Free Budget Worksheets

 

When you are watching your budget carefully, free budget worksheets just make sense. There are hundreds of websites on the Internet with templates that you can download for free and print out as much as you need.

These are especially helpful if you are new to creating a budget because it will allow you to work with a budget for free until you can decide which system you like best. Besides the basic worksheets you may find other printable worksheets that can all work together to help you keep track of your budget and handle your money more wisely. Some of the worksheets you will find, and their purposes are:

Weekly Budget: Helps you to figure your budget based on a weekly paycheck, or four paychecks per month.

Bi-Weekly Budget: Helps you to figure out your budget based on two pay periods per month.

Monthly Budget Worksheet: If you get paid once a month then this worksheet will help you have money at the end of your month.

If you are a freelancer,  contract labor,  commissioned, or otherwise self employed then your budget will have to be based on your average monthly income for the past year. To figure that amount, just add up your income for the whole year and divide by twelve.

The resulting amount is what you will figure your monthly income on. That means on the months that you have a large check you will need to put it aside for those months that you have a small check. The average is the amount you will use as monthly income level on your budget worksheets.

Once you have gotten the hang of making a budget and the habit of actually using it, try picking up a budgeting course.  These books are full of helpful tips, ideas, and more information on making the most of your money.  They are more complex than the free budget worksheets but for the long term budget and financial planning program, they are the way to go.
