Free Country Graphics

On a regular basis this hub is updated with new and original country and primitive graphics found around the web. All free, and with permission from the creators to USE them in your non-commercial projects! There are a handful who allow business or commercial use of their free graphics, but you will need to do the homework to be sure it is permissable to use them for business purposes. I hope this list will be beneficial and helpful to you!

Everything from desktop wallpapers, printables, both traditional and digital scrapbooking supplies, web graphics, social networking tags, web page backgrounds, lot's of primitive and country flavored graphics for craft uses.

Country graphics are much softer, usually more feminine graphics. They are almost always mouse drawn and original, meaning the design is exclusive to the creator. Many artisits use a variety of graphics software programs such as, Paint Shop Pro, Xara, Photoshop, Corel Draw and many more.

The style reflects a craft and folk art influence which can be seen in the soft colors, shading and sometimes very primitive design such as stick figures. Country graphics often depict scenes from rural life and country living. In a world where the web is dominated by glassy, reflective, modern graphics, country graphics offer a different spin on web art and printable images that bring you back to water colors, acrylics, sketches and even woven fabric textures for a homespun style!

Always be sure to credit the artists with a link on your web site or a copyright notice in small print containing the url of the site where you found the graphics in some inconspicuous place on your finished project, such as the back side of a printed greeting card you made. When you use a piece of art work, graphic design, photos, or intellectual property, the original works belongs to and is copyrighted by the artist. You do not own the copyright and it's extremely important to credit the original artist and have permission to use the work or you could land yourself in legal trouble that may be costly to deal with. Nobody wants that to happen, including the artists! People who offer free artwork for you to use many times only ask to be rightfully credited with a link or small notice. Noting an original artist is the right thing to do and will ensure you can use the artwork. Tthe artist is appreciative that their work is being used and seen. It's important for you to make sure you understand and abide by copyright laws.

When possible, I've included the link to that particular artist's terms of use page to assist you. If you are unsure, I suggest you contact the artist to obtain permission for a special project. I have only included sites here that allow you to use their graphics for personal use. It is your responsibility to confirm if any commercial or business use is acceptable and pay the license fee, if any. If commercial use is allowed I will include that in the description, but you are absolutely responsible for confirming that permission, as artists' terms of use, or "TOS" sometimes change often depending on how many people are abusing their generosity. Please have the kindness to remember that graphic artists who generously allow for free use do invest their time in creating the graphics, and time is not free. Not only will it keep you out of legal hot water...it's the right thing to do. Remember to pay it forward and give them the credit they deserve for sharing their talent with you freely.
