Are the kids bored? Too much indoor time with "nothing to do"? Get free craft projects for kids that will keep you and the kids entertained for hours at a time.

Keeping Them Busy / Keeping You Sane

With some planning, even the rainiest day can be fun for everyone. Choose your craft projects ahead of time so you can have all of the supplies on hand. Place all of the supplies in one bag or box so when the time comes when you have to find something for the little darlings to do, you'll be prepared.

Be realistic for your child's skill level for their age. Choose crafts that will be easy enough for them to do with little supervision but with a little challenge to keep them interested but not frustrated.

Check out Love to Know for Free Crafts

The website Love to Know offers a wealth of free kids' crafts projects. The alphabetical list offers crafts from American flag crafts to wood crafts and lots more in between.

Under "paper crafts" at Love to Know, directions are given for making wrapping paper, greeting cards, gift tags, paper jewelry, stationery, and much more.

Make crafts a learning project as well as fun. Try the solar system project to reinforce what your child is learning in school.

Check out Craftown for Free Kids' Crafts

At Craftown, the free kids' craft projects are categorized by holidays as well as individually listed by name.

Simple crafts include the following:

  • Make Chip Clips using snap clothespins and decorate them with a variety of materials.
  • Create Candy Planes as party favors or as treats for Halloween.
  • Design Animal Barrettes using felt and flat barrettes.

Free craft projects that are a bit more challenging include Necktie Snakes, Patchwork Flower Pots, and Crazy Beach Towel.

Do Your Own Search

Search the Internet for "free crafts kids" and you'll come up with numerous options. Just remember to search for these free crafts ahead of time, gather the supplies needed, put them all together in one bag or box (where you can find them), and bring out the fun when it's needed most.

Thanks for the useful info. You can never have too many projects for kids. They must always be kept busy and they'll soon be on holidays again.... what with Xmas approaching.

Ps. Glad your Car passed it's Emission test. :)
