Repair Your Credit Your Self
Yes you can and no you shouldn't pay anyone to do it for you. Do you know that 90 percent of all credit reports have inaccurate or false information on them. What you want to do is obtain a copy of your credit report from all three major credit bureaus. When you have received all three reports read and check them out carefully to make sure the information on your credit report from each credit bureau is accurate.
If you find inaccurate or false information dispute it by writing to each credit bureau and tell them exactly what is wrong. Be polite but be firm. Tell them the information that is wrong and ask them to please correct it. They should respond to you and tell you what they are doing about the inacurate information. You may even find fraud on your credit report. If you do report it to the credit bureau, your local police, and the Federal Trade Commision.
Be sure you order and read the credit reports listed on this Hub Page. Read each one carefully and use that information to repair your credit yourself. You don't ever have to pay anyone to repair your credit as you can do it yourself and you can do it for free.
If you don't want to do it all yourself you can ask for free help. The below non-profit and goverment organizations provide free, or low fee credit counseling services. You can contact them to find the office nearest to you.

Stop Collection Agency Harassment
In almost all states in the United States if you notify a company in writing ( by letter ) to stop calling your house they must stop. In some states you can simply tell them on the phone not to contact you by phone any more. If you do notify them to stop and they do not stop contact your State Attorney Generals Office and tell them a company you owe money to is harassing you and you have asked them to stop. Your State Attorney Generals Office will tell you how to proceed with your complaint against the company.
Make A Deal With The Credit Card Company Yourself
If you are seriously in credit card debt and you know there is little chance of you ever paying it off then contact the credit card company and tell them you are in financial trouble and there is no way you can pay off your credit cards. Ask them how they can help you. They should make a offer to reduce your payment or lower your intrest rates so you can pay off your credit card debt. If the first person or two you talk to are not helpful or don't offer solutions to your problems then ask to speak to their supervisor and keep working your way up till you find someone willing to help you with your credit card debt and financial situation.
Many credit card companies would rather receive something rather than nothing. Often you may be offered the chance to pay off your credit card debt for a few pennies on the dollar. Ask them if you do what they say if they will report you to the credit bureaus as paying off your debt. Insist on this so you can start to rebuild and repair your credit.
