Free Dumb part one
"Judge not, lest ye be judged". Do you believe in your judicial system? Do you feel The system is corrupt? Have you ever had to anticipate a verdict for a crime you know you're guilty of, or God forbid, not guilty of?
Well, with my experience of what I thrust myself through, I can honestly tell you that the Federal judical system is as unjust as it gets. I had the unfortunate opportunity to serve 41 months in Federal Prison for bank robbery.
Okay, chill out for a second. I know what you're thinking. "This guy deserved whatever he got"! And, as a matter of fact, you are correct. I did. At that peculiar time of my life I do have some circumstantial things that are nothing short of an excuse for my actions at that time of my life.
Along with a pretty persistant meth addiction, I had an ever crumbling relationship that was deteriorating quicker than my heart was beating at that time.
Reflecting back on the freedom I took for granted at that time of my life I would probably have to say I was far more incarcerated with that addiction than I ever was in prison. It was more like free dumb you could say.
I was intrapted in a life that had no escape except for prison or death. With me writing this at this time fortunate enough to look back, I'm thinking how I felt I was always trying to fit a jigsaw puzzle together that was mixed with another jigsaw. It was impossible for me to ever complete the puzzle so I went mad trying.
I could go on and on about the significant circumstances that brought me to rob that bank that day, but I won't. I pass by that bank at least three times a week if not more nowadays. I've even walked inside and looked around thinking about where my mind was that day.
To this day I could never explain why I did what I did. I did'nt use a gun, just a demand note. To be perfectly honest, if that teller would've gave my note back and said no, I would've walked out of that bank with my tail between my legs. I wasn't violent, but bank robbery is a "violent crime". So, that makes me a violent offender.
There are thousands of men and women incarcerated for conspiracy. I've witnessed people going through the ringer of the Federal judicial system with this bogus conspiracy label and usually not getting less than 10 years, even as a first time offender.
Okay now, before you pass judgement thinking they did the crime, and blah, blah, blah, listen for a second. There only needs to be three people agreeing that you did the crime in a conspiracy case. The "rats" could be anybody. They don't even have to know you. I witnessed people getting a substancial amount of time from this happening. The crooked Federal system is also known for giving too much time for what they call "ghost dope". Ghost dope is as scary as it sounds. They have a way to figure how much you could've sold during a certain time period and they usually go by what the "snitches" tell them.
You get three convicts in a room that have alot of time and one of them decides to roll on someone they heard too much about, then that might start some shit. These three convicts know they will get some time cut so they play the snitch role to get gain.
Well it has, and does, and unless we can get a grip on our system that treats everyone as the worst case scenario and not an individual, we will be forced to see friends, family, or possibly even yourself get the uncomfortable eye gouging experience that the Federal system will openly expose you to. They will laugh at you as they do it too.
Creating your own reality is vital. Well, I guess you can always except it.
