You ever look in the mirror and think, "What happened to me? Where did I go? Who is that?" One day you're looking for advice on cars, fashion and finances, and then suddenly you're trying to find free fat loss tips! Somehow along the way, you lost you.
She was rich, beautiful and had everything, though rich can be a burden, beautiful can be a curse, and you can't have everything. (Where would you put it?) After no contact for five years, I found her again. She still had her radiant smile plus 50 more pounds on her thin frame. Her former self was somewhere in there, surrounded by padding, like a down jacket you'd wear to keep warm. We didn't talk about it because it didn't really matter, but I wondered why she gained weight. She seemed to have lost a part of her being. Even when you're trying to follow a weight loss program, it's hard to keep in mind advice they provide. You can't read their book everyday. Some diet "secrets" are simply common sense you already know, but you need help remembering them: gently, not from the nagging mouth of your mate! Tip #1: Eat your greens. Sample low-cal, high-vitamin veggies that you haven't ever tried. The most vibrant colored varieties generally offer the best nutrients.
Tip #2: Skip snacks, not meals. Skipping a meal is okay? NOT! Missing meals actually slows down your metabolism rate and stimulates the Snack Attack Reflex.
Tip #3: Drink before you devour. You'll feel full and satisfied with less food. Eat slowly. It takes 20 minutes for your brain to register that "full" feeling.
Tip #4: Carbs are your friends! A healthy diet includes ALL food groups, in fact, 50-55% should be carbs. (Remember: other carbs exist besides the muffins at the office!)
Tip #5: Don't be an autopilot eater! Many folks have no idea how much they eat when it's just a reflex action. Grab, hand up, into mouth, chew, etcetera, over and over, deju vu.
Tip #6: Plan meals ahead, be spontaneous in bed. Try a week in advance so you can stock up on the good stuff and aren't pounding on your neighbor's door for an extra frozen pizza.
