This year father’s day is on June 21.

I want to dedicate this hub to my father and all the fathers of this world.

I want to tell you about someone who means a great deal to me. He loves and kind, he listens, suggests, and defends. He has the strength of a mountain, and the wisdom of ages. He loved to tell me stories, he taught me to ride my bike. He surprised me with chocolates. We used to share fudge sundaes and ice cream in a cone. Dads' really do make a huge difference in my lives. I remember when I use to think my daddy was a supper hero, and that he could do anything. I use to always say, "Daddy, fix it." It wasn't a question, it wasn't a request, it was a statement. And he always tried his hardest to fix whatever needed fixing. Father's really are wonderful people. Working fathers face a unique challenge. He is trying to do it all. Carefully balancing work life with our home life.

Fathers Day is an occasion to honour our dad and express gratitude for his love and support. Most countries including US, UK, Canada and India celebrate Fathers Day on the third Sunday of June.

Father's Day give us the opportunity to express thanks to our Daddy for all their unconditional love and affection. Observance of Father's Day makes fathers feel that their contributions are acknowledged in the society and also by their children. They feel proud of themselves! Besides by celebrating Father's Day, children come closer to their father. For, most often children take love of their parents for granted.

Here are some simple gift ideas to celebrate father day:

1. Running/Jogging: Go for a jog or run with your dad. This will make the nice starts for this day celebration. If your dad does not like to go for running or jogging skip for 2^nd step
2. Make a Breakfast: Start the days with a nice breakfast e.g. nice toast with juice. Breakfast in bed is a traditional way to tell someone you love him. Nothing is quite as comforting as having a friend or family member get up early just to cook something special for you. It makes a person feel loved and cherished beyond words. Father's Day breakfast should include two to three foods your dad loves. If you don't know what Dad's favourite breakfast foods are, ask him, but do it subtly, so that he won't suspect the surprise you have in store for him.Get up at least half an hour before your father usually awakens. Then, start cooking. If you time it right, you can bring breakfast into his bedroom just as he's opening his eyes.
3. Phone Call –I think it is good idea to call him on father days to wish him good health and long life. I usually call him every week so on father days I have same routine.
4. Flowers- Create a homemade bouquet of roses/flowers. Present this before dinner
5. Dinner-Prepare a nice dinner for dad. Prepare all dad favourite dishes.Have a family dinner together
6. Hubpage/Blog-Create a Hubpages or blog about dad.
7. Watch some old family videos/DVD- Set aside a night to watch with your mother old family videos/DVD. This way we will all remember our past time.
8. Dad’s TV Time- Let the father watch his favourite programs. Enjoy the TV programs with him.
9. Fishing or Golf trip- Have family trip for fishing or golfing.
10. Hug: Give him a hug - A big big one
11. Garage/Room Cleaning- When father comeback from work clean his garage and his room
