Jam and Backing Tracks for Guitar Bass and Drums

There is a cool website for musicians called free jam tracks. Why is it cool? Because there are good quality, free tracks you can download in both mp3 and wma formats.

Jam tracks and backing tracks are tracks that you play along with. The tracks on this website have been made for guitar players (and other lead instruments), bass player and drummers.

So the tracks for guitar players have a backing band that you can solo over. The tracks for bass players have a backing band without the bass so a bass player can play along with the tracks and the tracks for drummers have no drums.

What is also cool is that there are 7 different styles of jam tracks. Country, blues, funk, jazz, metal, reggae and rock. So whatever style of music you are into it's pretty easy to find tracks on there that are fun to play along with.

There are lot's more blues and rock tracks than there are for the other styles, but I guess that's because of the popularity of musicians who play along with this kind of music/resource.

There is also good information on each of the tracks and a varying degree of music theory, suggestions of what scales to play and other information that helps you if you are trying to learn to play guitar (or bass or drums).

It's great to have the tracks to be able to play with if you are just starting out, or if you don't have friends who play music. It's a lot more fun playing along with a backing track than it is just playing by yourself.

It's definitely a site worth checking out if you play an instrument. Obviously someone has put a lot of work into it. I give it a 10 out of 10.
