KT, the best advice I can give you on your question is for you to contact Five Brothers, either call them or send them an email and find out what rates they have for field inspections, that way you will get the exact information you are looking for. Thanks for stopping by.

The problem with working for these nationals companys is that you end up with little pay for your labor. HUD priceing is $40 for a lock change, they get 20 to 25% for a fee, you pay for the lock, your gas, and ware and tear on your truck and end up with about $28

guitarman1958  says:

How do you find out if the company is reputable or not? I've heard of some that will not pay after you do the work

Its best to work with a national company because they have already established themselves in the mortgage service industry.

Randy and I have worked for my brother's preservation company. Randy has done inspections for HUD,FEMA and field inspections. We would like to start our own preservation company. We have the experience but, do not know how to get contracts. Most companys require liability and workmans comp insurance. At this time we do not have the funds for insurance. Is there any other options or company's that don't require insurance. We are located in Northern Calif. bodering Reno, Nevada.

Your site is excellent! I was just kicking around and found you. Budd

In order to be hired by the large preservation companies, they require you to know HUD guidelines. The only information I have found on the HUD site is some list of allowable costs. These lists do not address the questions on any of the applications. Where in the world can we get a complete list of HUD guidelines - for instance that list procedures for an Initial Secure Order etc.? AND PLEASE PROVIDE A WORKING LINK!
