Free math online is great whether you are homeschooling or just looking for a way to give your child some practice in a math concept that he does not understand. From online math games, to curriculum and printables you can probably find everything you need for a complete math program for nearly any grade level.

When choosing the program or programs that you will be using try to keep in mind your child's learning style. Some children will do very well with math games online while others need the traditional pencil and paper approach. Always start out a little below where you child is academically to allow him to build confidence and excel in the program. If your child is struggling with double digit subtraction, for example, begin with single digit subtraction that you know he can do well.

Always build your program from the ground up, starting with the basics and working toward the more complex problems. Move through the material as quickly or as slowly as your child needs to, always making sure he understands a concept before moving on to the next one.

Online math is a helpful tutor.

Wow what a great Hub, Marye. I only wish it had been around when my daughter was younger. She had challenges and this would have helped. Maybe I should do some of these activities. I could use a refresher. Thanks!
