One of the things i enjoy as much as beading on a loom is thinking up new designs and drawing them out on paper. Loom beaded strips can be used on so many things like dog leashes, cowboy hats, horse bridals and reins, hair barrettes, wrist bands and on and on.
I have some free patterns below for you to browse through and print if you wish. I will add more from time to time, so be sure to bookmark this site, and tell all your friends.

Using The Patterns
These patterns are just simple geometric designs. They were not made to specifically fit any one project you might want to do. They are more or less just swatches to get your creativity flowing.
For example, if you want to make a beaded strip to sew on a belt, you may take one of the patterns above and repeat it several times till you have the correct length you need. Or perhaps, you are just making a beaded barette, and the patterns above are too long, well you could just omit rows from the patterns to get your desired length.
On each pattern i have tried to give an idea of the actual size it would turn out to be if you are using size 10/0 beads. In general, a square inch is 10 beads wide and 15 beads high. If you use a different size bead, the size will end up totally different.

I love your bead designs Night Writer! Thank you so much for the Loom Bead Graph Paper. You can always use regular square graph paper to design patterns, but your bead graph paper gives a way more realistic look and makes it much easier to visualize the finished pattern.
Thanks very much Cindy. Square graph paper is just as good in most cases, like geometric patterns. I just find they are not very good if you were beading certain things, for example a horse, or some kind of animal. You end up with something that doesnt really turn out in the right porportion.
And thank you Jan. Nice to see other people out there that enjoy beading as much as i do. Can't wait to see more hubs from both of you!
I don't have a printer at the moment, so if anyone see problems when printing the patterns or graph paper , please let me know. I am thinking you would have to use landscape format for most patterns or adjust the margins a bit. I would also be interested to know if the patterns are large enough on paper to follow easily.
Hi Night Writer, I printed out the graph paper. It came out on my printer the exact same size as it is shown on my computer screen. it printed fine in 'portait format' It looks like it is actually to scale. I would use sharp pencil crayons instead of felt pens to work out the colour patterns. I will use it for my next loom project! Thanks, it will be a great help - usually I work out the pattern in my head, or a peice of scrap paper!
Great! Thanks for the help Jan. I owe you one!
How can one join two loomed strips end to end
I made two stips to make a necklace size to fit around my wife's neck , my loom was not long enough the two strips are on the loom still
thank you my e-mail adress is Wamble57@gmail.com thank again
hi wamble. i saw your comment, and have been trying to figure out a way for you to get your task done. unfortunately i am a little stumped to.
so you have your two strips done. you could take the pieces off the loom and weave the two strips together with thread, but that still leaves all those cool little warp threads to hide eh? and thats where i dont see a solution.
if you were willing you could put the two pieces on a material backing allowing you to tape off those warp threads and hide them underneath, stitiching your finished pieces to the backing. but i dont know if thats an ideal solution for a necklace either.
if i may ask what kind of loom do you have? was it homemade or something. The reason i am asking is the ones you buy in the store do allow you to make a very long strip even though it doesnt appear that you can. It takes a bit of practice, but you can make your warp threads as long as you want and then simply roll them on the piece of dowling until your thread is tight. then bead as normal, when you run out of room, you simply loosen the screws on both ends, and start rolling your finished piece on the dowling on the side where you started, and unrolling some more thread on the other end, which creates a whole lot of room to continue on, tighten the screws back up and away you go again until you reach the desired length. i hope that makes sense. feel free to ask more questions if you are still stuck, and perhaps other people visiting the hub may offer some cool suggestions for you..good luck!
Hi Night Writer,
I had a question about certain types of print beading and if you'd ever done any. A friend of mine has requested I make her a Zebra Print bracelet. Although, in concept, it could be easy, I'm having a hard time even working out the pattern on paper. If you've ever done anything like this, are there any tips you could offer?
Thanks!
amber...not quite sure what kind of pattern you mean. are you looking for a loom pattern that will look like zebra stripes?
Yes, I was looking for tips on how to make a pattern that resembled zebra stripes. Not really looking for the pattern itself. I decided in the end to use your graph paper and measure it off. I then started coloring in stripes. It's actually working well! The graph paper is a huge help. Before I'd always just thought it up in my head or used a piece of paper but with this type of pattern it was almost impossible.
ohhh i see..well i am glad the graph paper helped a bit!
Thank you for the graph paper. I am just getting started with my new loom. It is a bit intimidating, but I plan to work at it until I get it straight. Most of the patterns seemed to be cute or Native American. I bought two books, by Margie Deeb, that have some great designs. Also, I plan to start with simple bracelets, and maybe progress from there. But, if all I do is bracelets that's fine too.
Happy Beading!
Thank you, I have had people asking where good loom paper could be found on the web, so I hunted and pecked my way here. I put it up on my blog, and gave full credits and links to you! http://beadandfeathers.blogspot.com , an aftershoot of my anartistlife.com blog Thank you!, Marge
hi Marge. Thanks for dropping by! Your beaded bracelets are beautiful by the way!

Hi, I have a question:
How do you finish something you've done on a loom? I mean like how do you take it off, and hide all the threads and keep the beads from coming off the end?
By the way, I really like all you're patterns!
Hi Sarah. Thanks for the nice compliment. I am hoping to make more patterns soon to share on here, or even perhaps another small website for beading fanatics. When you have your piece finished, you can put a piece of tape around the strings on each end. Then cut your strings beside the tape. When you go to sew your loomed piece onto leather or whatever fabric you choose, you simply fold the tape underneath so it is hidden. Hope that helps. :)
Hi, I'm new to weaving and am trying to make my own pattern with letters. Could you please give my some tips?
