Well, to be honest, there are quite a few legit people search engines available on the internet, but 99% of them are NOT free. There are also ways to find people or old school friends, relatives etc online without paying and they will be revealed in this article.

Firstly you will notice that when you go on one of these ‘free people finder’ websites, you will be asked to enter a name on a search box. Once you enter the name and click on search, you are directed to a page which says that you have to pay a joining fee to view the results of the person you are trying to find! But the problem with most of these organizations is that you will find bogus out-dated info in their member’s area or even plain misleading information, which doesn’t even match. Despite wasting quite some money on a lot of these sites, I have been a member of Government Registry for quite a number of years and very happy with their service still to this day.

Here is a free method that you can use, to try and find an old friend or relative. Go to google and make sure that you are on the Google.com homepage. If you are in Australia or uk etc. you will notice that Google’s homepage will be Google.com.au or Google.co.uk respectively …. In that case under the search box you will notice a text which says “Go To Google.com” …. click on that.

Once Google.com is loaded and for example, if we were looking to find a person named John Doe, we would type this in the search box without the brackets :- (site:facebook.com john doe).

The command ‘site:facebook.com’ lets Google know to only reveal results from Facebook. Also, since Facebook.com is the biggest social networking site in the world, everyone and their neighbour has a profile there. Flick through the results and you might just get lucky! If however, you don’t find any relevant information, joining a premium service would be the best option.
