Being an artist and designer, I am frequently looking for free stock photos that I can use in my artwork or for layouts on my social networking sites like Yuwie and My-Space. Although there are technically alot of photos that you can find on the web, they are not all "technically" free for anyone to use- in fact- you can actually get into trouble for copy and pasting some one else's work into your articles or pages without permission from the owner of the pictures.

Being that the web is such a big place, it's sometimes hard to know what is OK and what is not OK for us to use in our everyday work here at the web.

In this article I have compiled a gallery of "free stock sunset photos" which basically means you are not going to get into any trouble using them. I have selected some favorite sunsets that I use in my work and have posted them here for you to also enjoy- free!

The photographers that have taken these pictures have allowed us to use these images without compensation- so please use and enjoy them!

(To save a sunset picture here- right click with your mouse on the picture you like and select "save picture as"- then save it in the folder you want to keep it in on your computer - I usually save mine under "My Pictures" in "My Document" folder)

For more royalty free photos you can visit this link at http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/ and find categories for animals, natures, insects and many other things. It's a very helpful resource when you need photo's and you don't want to search around for "free" photos to use!

And don't forget, you can always try your own hand at making your own beautiful sunset pictures by using your own digital camera- I have also done this with great success. Just make sure you back up your work! I lost some of my best sunset photos because I did'nt have back-up copies and my hard drive crashed.
