Finding the perfect tattoo can really be a long and ardous journey. People can spend hours and hours contemplating on the tattood esign they want. After deciding on the overall tattoo design that you want to get then you have to do further research and find the actual design that you would like to use. Free tattoo galleries can easily be found everywhere online and can often quicken this process and make it a little easier. Not that you will find the exact tattoo that you are looking for but by seraching trhough free tattoo galleries you can often come up with something that is close to what you want and it will also help spark a bunch of ideas. If you camehere just looking for free already done tattoo designs of a ceertain topic then I hate to disappoint you but you will not find that here. Instead what you will find are some great galleries full of pictures, that show off and display the most frequently requested tattoo designs and ideas. So instead of comming here and getting frustrated that I am not giving away free designs instead think of it this way.

It costs time and money to create tattoo designs. Depending on the size, intricacy of the tattoo and the detail it can be very expesnive up to $500 just for hte design all the way down to $5.00. So very basically stated it costs money. There are very fee professional tattoo artists out there willing to work for no money. They have families to feed anda job to uhold and if they gave their work away for free on the internet they would no longer have a job or a family to speak of. So instead you can do one of four things.

1. If you are on a tight budget sign up for a internet site that offers tons of high quality tattoo designs (like the ones listed above) This is cheap, you get 1,000's of designs and new ones added all the time. The work is done by professional artists so you know it is good quality.

2. Contract with a professional tattoo artist to do the work for you and pay them directly which will cost more but the final result will be more unique.

3. Try to scour the internet and maybe find some free designs that are really low quality done by some John Doe off the street and paid $5.00 or less for. (You wont be happy)

4. Or beg, plead and cajole everyone on the internet and in person that you can find to do a tattoo design for you. One paticularly anoyying method I see a lot is people posting in tattoo forums. It goes something like this:

HELP I Need A Tattoo Design Bad!

Hey dude - Please help me I need this really sick looking dragon tattoo with some tribal barb wire design and I can draw. Can one of the artist here do it for me for free? I would apericate it bros!

And sad but true here is the typical response:

Yea sure I would love to how much are you willing to pay!

Or This one sometime comes up

Sure I can do it for free that would be cool

(Keep in mind you have no idea who this guy is or his credentials. Probably if he is giving his services away for free he is just getting started. Nothing wrong with that but not sure that is who I would want for my first tattoo design)

Most people quickly realize the top two are the best options and crack down and use one of them. If you want to learn the hardway, or are too tight on money then go ahead and try one of the other methods. More power to ya!

One other option that I typically like is I will come up with the basic idea of the tattoo that I want to get. Say a full back piece of a koi fish. Can't draw this myself so I go out and look at as many koi tattoo pictures as I possible can find. I will even save them to my hard drive. I then pick the top two or three that I like the best and bring them to my tattoo artist. Show them the designs and talk about what I like and then get something I am really satisfied with. It is the most expensive but also this allows me to get quality body art!

I use the membership type sites listed above to give me further ideas and get me closer to an actual design but still have my local artist do the final sketch for me.
