Free traffic is something different from paid traffic. Anybody with a budget can drive traffic by paying for it. Just contact companies who do any kind of advertising, tell them your buget and website and they will send traffic your way...

Everybody is not so fortunate so that they have a large marketing budget. That's why there are free marketing methods people can use today. The best part about free traffic is that it can be very residual, that means you do the work once and get paid forever, without ever having to pay money for your traffic.

The hard part with free traffic is to know where to post your advertising, or content that will attract visitors to your website. Many use articles as their primary way of driving traffic, others use YouTube. Some may ask "How do you drive free traffic with YouTube?". Well, it's not hard actually.

When somebody visits your video and watches it, and likes it, you have the opportunity to ask them to come visit your website for more information, but they need a good reason to do so, because a majority of people are not on YouTube to visit other people's websites. Although many are.

Another thing is to get active in forums and drive traffic from forums. The best traffic promotion I know is still video! 75% of all website traffic is video so it's an advantage to be using it in your marketing. I'm a big fan of anything that adds value to people's lives and that is what you have to do to drive the traffic you want.

See right now there is a gap between your website and your potential visitor. They are not aware of your website yet, so you must use marketing to close the gap between yourself and the visitor. You need to then close the gap between the visitors problem or want and provide a solid solution to it, and at the same time give them a strong call to action to get that final push to make them want to come over to your website.

A bad article is sometimes better than no article, but it can also put you further away from being a credible authority which is the biggest reason you'll be successful driving traffic.

One of the easiest ways to drive traffic is to have some kind of result, share that result where people have trouble getting towards that result, then give it away for free. If they learn something they will be happy to continue to do business with you and that is something more valuable than the traffic you will attract to begin with.

So step one before you even drive traffic is to set up your overall marketing plan and strategy. What will you do to keep making more money from existing customers? How is your marketing funnel set up? What's your unique selling points etc.

There is no use of driving traffic to a page that will destroy your credibility... It's not worth it. So only use these methods once your site is ready to rock!
