Free UK Qualifications Online!
71Want to study towards some new qualifications? Maybe you just like studying, or feel that you desperately need to offer something extra on your curriculum vitae? It can be very difficult for those of us with very hectic day to day lives to fit in the time, and indeed cost, of part time educational courses. Thankfully, there is an answer to your prayers; at least if you live in the UK. www.vision2learn.com are offering, and indeed have been offering for several years now, a number of great courses which can be done completely free of charge, completely online with no need to ever visit a college, in your own time and lead to a genuine nationally recognised qualification!
To date I have completed two qualifications with this company and have enjoyed them immensely. The company provides you with a personal tutor who is on hand to mark all of your assignments and offer you support and assistance whenever necessary, mostly via email. So whats the catch? There is no catch! vision2learn are able to offer these courses free of charge as they are government funded, so although you are sitting your course with a private company, you are not paying for their service!
There is absolutely no need to sit an exam, all study materials are accessed online and the only real requirement is that you have regular Internet access in order to undertake the online tutorials. The work is all coursework based and can be done whenever and wherever you want, as long as you are able to commit 3 hours per week to study then you should pass your course relatively quickly. If you get an answer wrong on your submitted work, you get the opportunity to redo the question until you get it right so they are pretty much fail safe!
I have completed two courses myself, the Equality & Diversity course and the Occupational Health and Safety course, both of which led me to achieving genuine recognised level 2 certificates of education - level 2 is equal to a GCSE at grade A-C. I have found them very useful additions to a CV which needed a few holes plugged. Don't get me wrong they are not going to get you 50k a year, and in fact I have a degree, but in this economic climate a free qualification is a very brave thing to turn down!
