You may need to convert your video to an acceptable format. You should be able to find the tools that you need online if you do not already have them.

There are a lot of features on youtube such as a hit counter and ratings system. You can even bookmark and add videos to your favorites or a play list. You can leave comments on most videos and start discussions.

I feel that youtube is superior in most cases. The only reason why youtube would not be superior is if you need to actually download the video to your computer or if you need to upload a larger or longer video that they do not support.
