Dear Budding Web Developer,
I want to tell you a bit about the
free website makers out there and how you can utlize their functionality to create your own website for free.
When you are evaluating a free website maker its important to keep these key issues in mind:
- Is it going to stamp my pages with trademarks or advertising?
- Am I going to be able to edit my pages in 30 days time, or will I have to pay a fee?
- Will my web pages actually look good if I use a free website maker?
Ok, so now we've got some things to think about let's dive in and take a look at a bunch of free website makers.
First up is
BlueVoda, it is actually really cool but don't be fooled by the free download, you will have to pay for this software if you want to use it professionally.
However, I would recommend you visit their website:
www.bluevoda.com and at least
give it a go, they have some great training material and you'll be able to get a feel for what you want in the free website makers.
The big advantages of the Blue Voda system is that it isn't packaged with spy ware, malware, or adware... and they're surprisingly common in software packages you download off the internet.
Next up is the
Site 2 You system put out by Template Monster, they have a great lttle free website maker in their system which is
free to try for 7 days, most people decide to just pay the fee after their trial period because it's one of the best systems out there and you'll see why as soon as you sign up. Here's the link:
www.site2you.comOut of all the free website makers I took a look at this next one seems to be the best balance between
power and
freedom, you get a great range of tools for a great price (
FREE), here's the link to NVU:
www.nvu.comIn conclusion I would recommend signing up for
site2you first, then I would download
nvu, do a comparison. If you like NVU over Site 2 You then download
Blue Voda and see if it has any features you prefer over NVU.
My prediction is that you'll end up paying for Site 2 You after trying NVU for a couple of weeks :)
I hope this article has helped you understand more about the free website makers that are available online. Here's a list of other free website makers that I don't really have much experience with, but you might find useful:
