60When Free E-Books Abound, Why Should You Pay For Others?
The sheer volume of websites currently offering free e-books is astounding. As an astute webmaster you probably know that there is no better way than getting visitors to your site by offering something for nothing, but then at the same time you might be wondering why you should be paying for other e-books that appear to be similar in nature. After all, when free e-books abound, why should you pay for others and thus get the same information twice - or so you might be tempted to think.
Take for example the tome known as the Super Affiliate Handbook which has been a successful compilation Rosalind Gardner. She is quick to point out that her work from home endeavors are making about half a million dollars each year - all directly derivative from her online marketing efforts in the affiliate field - and thus she has been able to bid a fond farewell to the corporate world. How would her claims compare to those of the alleged Internet millionaires that will sometimes offer their e-books free of charge to interested online marketers, and sometimes will just throw them in as part of their package when someone signs up for a training course?
The answer is - perhaps surprisingly - simple: while the one is a bona fide firsthand account that will be beneficial to any aspiring work from home entrepreneur seeking to become serious about making affiliate marketing as a primary career move, the other is a more generic and perhaps common sense read that might still benefit you in some way but most likely will not have the overall impact that the for-pay e-book will have.
Sure, reading about an author's tried and true personal experience, mistakes made, pitfalls avoided, and also her training in the field will present an uncanny glimpse into the progression of a successful marketing career. Yet like any business person's biography, keep in mind that paying for one e-book versus getting another for free does not offer an ultimate promise or guarantee that you will experience a business success. As a matter of fact, there is no guarantee that you will be able to actually copy the approaches taken by any of the e-book authors, especially since each and every person's experiences and situational decisions will affect their thinking differently.
In conclusion, it is simply a matter of money that should determine whether or not you will be satisfied with a free e-book download in the hopes of finding some much needed marketing advise, or if you will pay to read the inside scoop of someone else's personal experiences. Neither author has a personal responsibility to you and therein lays the rub: each and every e-book (free or otherwise) will offer you something useful, but whether it is worth it to you to pay money for it is a personal decision only you can make. While some e-books on highly specialized topics may be worth the cost, especially when they are written to an underserved market - those that specialize in generic topics which are also covered in free versions by and large may not be so useful as to justify the expense.
