The art to decorate body with tattoos is one of the most ancient of modern arts. It's difficult to say when the first tattoo appeared, but it's known for certain that tattoo exists for more than 60,000 years. The most ancient tattoos were found when historians were excavating Egyptian pyramids; so Egyptians are considered to be founders of this art. 

     Tattoo appeared by chance: having noticed that after burns or cuts, in which soot or paint gets accidentally, fanciful and indelible pictures are left on the skin, people started to hurt themselves deliberately. At first tattoo served not as a decoration but as a distinctive feature of a clan or a tribe, it showed the origin of a person and was endowed with magic force. Secrets of making tattoos passed from one generation to another, from father to his sons.

     Unfortunately, in XIXth and XXth centuries tattoo turned from art into an inexpensive and simple craft, but owing to surge of interest among young people in tattoos that took place in 50-60s of the last century the art of tattoo still exists and flourishes. 

     Today tattoos are very popular among youth and celebrities, and I have to mention that at present everyone who wants to make a tattoo can find one he or she likes; the Internet provides a great variety of choice.
