RPG games are one of the most popular anywhere you look. From D&D to your Xbox 360 they are everywhere. Of course since they are so popular many people make a wide rang of Online Free RPG Games, anywhere from single player to MMO (Massivly Multiplayer Online) I will try to cover as much of a variety of games that I possibly can. There are some of the older games that lots of people have forgot about by now check below for some of those too! I would like to bring back some of the games that you may have forgot or have never seen or have missed. Hopefully I can show you some of the old games that started the rising popularity in RPG games so you can see why people love them so much today! Lots of the best RPG games can be flash games which means that they will play right on your browser and will only take about 2 minutes to load. This is a great benefit of technology now that you are able to play full games right in your browser window without downloads. To play some of the older games that were on the console you may need to download ROMs and an emulator however. They will be small downloads for the most part due to the old technology and simple graphics.

Well of souls is a completely free multi player online RPG game in pretty much turn based combat. This game is particularly good for how old it is. This is at least 7 years old and has simple graphics but the ability to use your imagination and make anything, any world, any class, any monsters that you want. Or you can just play the game, such as playing in someone Else's made up world or the original world called Evergreen which is fun enough. The real fun is when you get into a good group and fight each other in some massive PvP action. Of course there are tons of different options and it may take you a little while to figure out how to become godly in this game but it doesn't take nearly as long as some MMO games and such. You have the option to donate to the game creator which he will award you with a golden soul. As far as I know this still only makes your name golden to show that you donated and does nothing else which is a relief. I have so many hours of play time in this game over the years just because I get bored with something and want to play a good game again. I highly recommend at least trying this one out as it is a tiny download.

As stated above flash games are some of the easiest games to play due to the fact that they download right in your browser and you don't need to dedicate hard drive space to them. The downfall however is that they are not as immersed some times due to them playing in a small window and not having all of the sounds that make a game more immersing. They don't have a lot of sounds most of the time due to the fact that this slows down the game a lot and makes it a little laggy.

 Artix Entertainment has an amazing tack record of the best RPG flash games online. This is 100% true they do have some of the best RPG games online, they are simple yet effective. Their games are known as lunch time RPGs as in you only need to spend 10-15 minutes to fight a monster or two really quick then just close the browser and you are done! Their games at the time of this writing include Adventure Quest Worlds, Mech Quest, Adventure Quest, DragonFable, and WarpForce. Warpforce, at the time of this writing is not listed on the homepage though they made the game and you should google it if you want to try it. Adventure Quest Worlds is the first flash based MMO, and its not a bad one at that there is plenty of quests to do and achievements to earn that will keep you busy for a long time. Also switching your classes is easy so you don't need to make a lot of characters you just make one and level the classes with your character depending on which one you are using.

Sword and Sandals is an epic mini game in which you play as a gladiator in the arena. You start as a mere peasant and work your way up in fame to become a world renown gladiator! That is the general story at least, there are 4 different games so far that are released. There is sword and sandals 1-3 and Sword and Sandals Crusade. The basic principles for this game is to purchase equipment and upgrade for your character. Then you take your character in the arena and fight your opponent get XP and money. Then repeat this process until you beat the game. There are variations as they add new content and more features in the future releases of the game but the above formula is the basic formula for success in this game. Taking the role of your very own arena fighter is surprisingly fun, as you rise in the arena ranks for defeating opponent after opponent.

Stick RPG lets us play as a stick person for a pre determined amount of days and try to accomplish as much as possible in this time. Of course you are not supposed to die either which could happen if you take the dangerous life. Everything is your choice you can do nothing or try to cram everything into one game, its quite addictive for such a simple game. Although you probably won't play it more than one time its worth your time to check out and see if you like it. You only have a certain amount of time each day to either work out, get into a bar fight, or work at your job. There are tons of different outcomes depending on which skills you work on and thats what makes this game good.

When it comes to a Snes emulator I suggest Snes9x. A Snes emulator is a computer program that will let you play Snes games on your computer. This is a huge advantage as you can download Snes RPG classics at Snes ROM sites. Snes has a lot of classic RPG games that everyone should have played and if they didn't they SHOULD play them now. Snes hosted Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, . These are all innovative games leading the entire system in the best graphics and best sound quality. They all have the very best and lead all of the game design world. That is just how good Square Enix has gone with thier franchise! Not only that they make combat and their stories just as addictive which makes it hard to pickup and play for only a little while. If you have ever played any Final Fantasy game you know what i'm talking about. When you get started you move a little in the story you really want to see what is going to happen next. They pretty much move you from cliffhangar to cliffhangar non stop. This leads to the reason why the topped the charts in game sales every time they release a new game and this is true even today. The entire Final Fantasy series all the way back to Final Fantasy I is worth checking out if you really want to enjoy every bit of the Final Fantasy genious.

Chrono Trigger is one of the best all time games ever released for any system period! I still stand by this comment due to the amount of awesomeness this game has. You have crisp clean amazing graphics, with amazing gameplay, coupled with over 10 different endings that you can get. This is innovative back then and still is today, most publishers do not put as much work into their games as they MUST have had to put into Chrono Trigger back then. If they did you would notice an RPG game with actual replayability. You could play this game over and over to try and see all of the endings but it's very hard to beat and would take forever! So you would loose interest before you actually do everything there is to be done in the game, this says something for it being among the greatest of games.

Secret Of Mana is a brand new genre in itself to be honost. It combined action and RPG elements to create, well... The action RPG genre! It is very fun even wtih todays standards again. I love to play this game with my Xbox 360 controllers and 2 of my friends. Yes thats right this is a 3 player game in which you team up with your buddies to defeat the bad guys. This is one of the originals like i stated and an amazing one at that. This is one of my personal favorites because I love the action RPG genre and I remember when I first got to play this game and its the first action RPG that I can remember at the least. There aren't very many good action RPGs out there especially due to playing this amazing one first it really puts a lot of them to shame.

Terrigama, first of all is a surprisingly long game. When I say long I mean LONG! When you think the game is just ending you realize that thats the first chapter which I found humorous when I first played it through. This is a real gem for its amazing gameplay and most people haven't played it back on the SNES due to its delayed and limited release in America. This will be a fresh game for most of you, and you will be impressed with the amount of quality and be jelous of the initial Japan only release back when the SNES was hot. A very unique story that is up to par with Final Fantasy, thus with so many twists in the story I can't really explain it without spoiling something. You just need to play this game if you can dedicate the time to it because you wont want to put it down after you pick this one up.

Lufia is a very simple game which is what makes it so appealing. One of the greats for the SNES system it does have its problems with sub par sounds and graphics and simple game play. Personally I think thats what makes this game shine though, you move quickly from what your currently doing because its easy to play yet still mildly challenging. Of course the end is where you are going to meet your biggest challenge like most RPG games you will spend a couple of tries most likely to defeat the boss. This game is easy enough for people of all ages and they will appreciate that and the game hardly ever gets dull because you are always moving forward in the game and seeing something new and different.

Ogre Battle is not for everyone due to the RTS RPG combination that they put in here. You take command of your army of up to 100 units which are almost 100% customizable to defeat your opponents. This customization and 100 unit combat is what makes this game unique for its time, this type of customization was unheard of. This is what makes it a classic is the combination of amazing story and GREAT music/graphics. You will be impressed with how good this is for the time period it was released. Lots of people cannot stand to play this game due to the lengthy battles and the kind of user unfriendly start because you will need to pretty much teach yourself. This is also but makes it appealing to me is all of the customization that you can do and you will need to play around for the best army combinations to complete certain objectives.

RoboTrek has some of the game play that I love the most. I like the games that are similar to Pokemon where the main character doesn't fight but trains monsters ETC. This is exactly the type of game play that is in RoboTrek. You build robots from junk and garbage to defeat the monsters. One of the best parts is that when you defeat monsters and collect junk from around the world you will be able to make pretty much anything from more robots to items to assist you in your journey. It is a pretty unique system that I think works very well to say the least. This game didn't get the best reviews on the Internet but I do not understand why except that its pretty easy to beat to say the least, and the story can get a little weird like the weird that you kind of want to stop playing but its still addicting of a game that you should try at least.

Earthbound was such an amazing game when it was released it got so many people addicted to the RPG genre. There are nothing but perfect scores from me to this game. I have beat this game at least 3 times and haven't got really bored of it to this day. Unique and I mean very unique storyline. Battling is pretty much your normal RPG turn based combat, fun and easy. The thing that sets this game apart is its story and unique humor. The modern day setting adds to the humor that you will see such as the first character that you meet the buzzing bee. He is a hilarious character and there are plenty more that you will meet on your journey. This is an absolute must for anyone to try, especially if you have never played this game before.
