The number one spell people ask for is a love spell.
Often it is to get a certain person to come back to them.
Or to have someone suddenly notice them in a more amorous way.
Both of these motivations risk invoked the Rule of Three.
I also have people write to me suggesting that the sky will fall in if you cast a Love Spell full stop.
This is incorrect.
You CAN cast love spells...
You CANNOT cast a love spell that divines against another's free will (or you will invoke the rule of three).
So what's the difference?
If you cast a spell and specify that it MUST be someone - you are actually casting against them. You are endeavouring to manipulate their behavior - or a stronger word - force their behavior.
Witchcraft and spell casting works WITH nature and the universal energies.
You CAN cast for true love to come to you. You CAN cast for the type of person you would like to attract - what the qualities of that person are.
You are in fact casting to bring the energies of love to your doorstep.
The Universe is all about granting your wish in the form of like attracts like.
You might cast for love to come to you - you need to have a loving, open heart to attract that back.
As over and above the words you might utter - what the universe and magick picks up on is your energy - as that is your truth more than your words.
So it brings you your truth.
It brings you a match of your feelings about love.
So if you cast a love spell and your focus is on 'I wish love would come to me, it never does' - that is actually what you will get back...it not coming to you.
So with a love spell you need to have an open, loving and expansive heart yourself.
And the qualities you may ask for in a person you need to be yourself - so that you will attract it in like (this does not mean you attract a carbon copy of yourself - it's say if you want someone kind hearted and tolerant - you need to be that in your behaviors to begin with).
And the Rule of Three:
It states that whatever you wish for you get back threefold. So if you invoke against another's free will - which is a Universal No No - you will get back a punishment three times as awful as your action.
So please with this love spell or any other love spell - divine WITH the energies of the universe to bring to you a match for your own open loving heart.
To Attract A new Love Spell
Tools and Ingredients
Alter or Sacred Space
5-6 inch circle of red fabric
Blue ribbon
Red candle
Dried lavender
Small piece of rose quartz
Small piece of copper (a coin, ring or piece of wire is acceptable)
Ylang Ylang oil
Orange oil
A plate
Step 1. After collecting the tools and ingredients, prepare your space according to your own ritual, or by lightly sprinkling salt in a circle around yourself while speaking the following words: I consecrate this place/ for the Goddess within and without/ only love and good can remain/ hate and evil are cast out.
Step 2. Light the red candle and think for a moment about the type of person you want to attract into your life. Select three qualities that you want them to have, for example honesty, strength and sensuality. If you already know who you are trying to attract, think of their name and visualize them. Then consider the best aspects of yourself and try to think of the three things you most want others to see in you, for example, intelligence, enthusiasm and grace.
Step 3. Place the plate on the alter and set the red fabric circle on it. Take a pinch of the dried lavender and hold it in your clasped hands. Inhale the aroma of the lavender while speaking these words: My heart is open and ready for love/ may the Goddess bless my new journey.
Step 4. Rubbing your hands together, allow the lavender to sprinkle onto the red fabric circle.
Step 5. Place a few drops of the Ylang Ylang oil onto your hands and then begin to rub the oil into the piece of rose quartz while speaking the following words at least three times (insert the qualities of type of person you wish to have in your life): Bright One inside and around me/ let one with ______, ______, and ______ come into my life!
Alternative. If you already know the person whose love you are trying to attract, use this incantation instead: Bright One inside and around me/ if it will be for the good of all/ Let ______ and I see each other with open hearts and open minds/ that love may begin anew.
Step 6. Place the piece of rose quartz onto the red fabric.
Step 7. Place a few drops of the orange oil onto your hands and rub the oil into the piece of copper while speaking the following words at least three times (insert the three things you most want others to see in you): You, who are all things beautiful and true/ let me feel you inside of me/ always remembering the _______, _______, and _______ that exist in me.
Step 8. Place the piece of copper onto the red fabric.
Step 9. Take the red candle and hold it above the fabric, allow one drop of wax to fall on the items gathered below for each of the following sentences: In your name, Goddess, I am ready for love/ Let those with _______,________, and _______ come into my life/ Let all see the ______, _______, and _______ inside of me/ By my will, so mote it be!
Step 10. Gather up the circle to form a pouch. Use the blue ribbon to close it tightly with seven knots. Keep the pouch with you, tied around your neck or waist, until your spell has accomplished its goal.

Though to love someone or not is a choice - it might be a difficult choice to make - it is none the less a choice.
And there are many forms of love - and loving someone without need means that we can love them from a true heart place, even if they do not love us back.

I just wanted to ask a question about love spells and a persons free will. I am in no way trying to cause trouble, I am a practising Wiccan and have been for the last 10 years, but lately I have got to thinking about this.
I met a very old wise woman, who is a Wiccan and a very good one at that. I had recently split with my partner of 7 years and it had hit me pretty hard. I told her about this and she suggested casting a love spell, of course I frowned and said that I couldnt because that would be messing with his free will. Her reply was
"Free will does not exsist because of fate, fate guides our lives up and down different paths from the day we are born, it is fate and not free will that makes us make all decissions throughout of life time, and fate is there to be changed and has been changed many times by many individuals. A love spell can be a wonderful spell to cast and can bring you eternal happyness. Leave it a few months, and if the first thing you think of in the morning when you wake is your lost love,and the last thing you think of at night before sleeping is you lost love,if all you can think of during the day is your lost love,then he is the one for you and a spell could bring you peace and back together"
I though about this,but from the age of 14 I had had it drilled into me by my eldest sister who is also a Wiccan about a persons free will and the rule of three,so I questioned her some more.
she said "If you had some loved ones that had gotten into the wrong company and you were worried about their health,so you cast a protection spell,and this spell stopped them going out on a night that could have ended badly,is that not messing with their free will? If you cast forgiveness spells after you have had an arguement with a friend is that not messing your friends free will? Wiccans all over the world, everyday cast spells that mess with another persons free will, the truth is that the only way not to mess with another persons free will is only to cast spells on yourself and that is going against everything we are, we are here to help people"
And now here I am 8 months after my seperation from my partner,and I think about him as much now as I did the day we met. Im finding myself thinking me and more everyday about what was said to me and find myself thinking about casting a love spell.

i dont know if this is posiible but 've been searching tons of websites and i cant find one simple website that doesn't include things i cant get from the supermarket. what i mean is are there any spells where i dont need ingrediants or at least can use ingrediants from scrap? thanks for the info i really appreciate it.

All I can say is: DON'T GO THERE! :-)
The rule of three exists for a reason.
We must NEVER mess with another's free will - no matter how enticing it is to.
Look at the examples your 'wise woman' offered.
You would only cast a protection spell for another if they gave you permission to do so - otherwise you are messing with their free will.
You might cast for a child of yours protection - as they are under your care and responsibility to they come of age. That is a different situation - where a parent does have a right to choose for their children (unless they become legally emanticipated - which then means spiritually they also do as they have made the choice to do that).
If you cast a forgiveness spell - it is not to impose it on another and make them forgive you - instead you would pick a spell that brings about an energy of forgiveness and opens up that possibility - they still have free will.
So too with a love spell - you can cast a love spell for love to come to you. You might even mention that you are open to it being your ex. The key is it being the love that is best for you right now. As that is a choice you are making.
If it is meant to be your ex, he will come back to you.
You must never cast a love spell to make someone come back to you, or to love you - again it is tempting when emotions are involved - I promise you it will end in tears.

There are lots of spells with easy ingredients. You can even cast a spell in your own mind.
You can use items from nature.
You can use items from a supermarket.
There is no restriction or limitation - the only limitation is in our own mind.

hi guys! i am a new person to the whole wiccan thing with spells and stuff of that nature. I have become involved with an older man that is truly one of his own. he lives by this stuff, not that its bad, hes got a chosen path. I have found a new interest in it and i am trying to figure it all out. I have been praying and studying and trying to pull down the moon and all kinds of stuff for the past few months. I have learned the visualization process pretty well. The one thing that catches me is How to use the third eye chakra? I have tried to use this time and time again and cant seem to make it work. He knows about my interest and desire to know about this stuff and one day when he was at my house, he did a scroll with his hands and his mind and then he sat it down on the dresser and told me if i really wanted to know what it said then i would figure it out, and the only hint he would give me is that there was a love spell entaliled. well after 2 days of meditation on this thing and trying to figure it out i finally realized that it was a blank scroll and that my third eye did infact work and that i was suposed to put the love spell on the paper and then cast it. so how do i know which love spell i am infact suposed to use???....???....

@Taylor - there are indeed many forms of spells. Not all require 'ingredients' - though a chant can also be termed an ingredient :-)

If someone loves you and wants to be with you, they will come to you from their own free will. You do not need to, nor should, cast a spell to make them do as you desire. That is about your desire, and not their free will.

Now, I know about the three fold law when performing love spells. But what sort of things could happen if a person does a love spell with a specific person in mind? What would happen if a person does a love spell on someone who is married or attached?

There is no way to try and disguise that to perform a love spell on someone else to make them love you - whether they are single, married or attached - is going against that person's free will.
Which will invoke the Rule of Three.
You can certainly have someone in mind - you do not cast specifically to make them love you. There is a HUGE difference.

my ex boyfriend is mad at me and has gone off with some1 eles im not trying to mess with his free will i just wanted to know if i can make him dream of the good times and make him not mad at me so we can talk. we have a baby together i just wanted to try something to make it better.

Do you think it's true love to go off with someone else because you're mad at someone. You deserve better!
You get what you accept in life. And I would encourage you to instead spell cast for a love where you are honored and respected and when there are problems, they want to work through it with you.
And you also need to be all of that yourself first too.
Love is not about going off with someone else when you're mad at someone. That is about hurting someone because you're caught up in your own sense of 'right (ous)ness' about how you are feeling.
Again - you deserve better. Believe that for yourself and so it will become.
