Yes You can get free songs i got an ipod for christmas and if you have a CD you can get the songs of that also if your mates have an ipod what you can do is invite them all round connect your ipod up to your computer and start swaping tunes.
Ps theres no sutch things as free downloads for your ipod if you want some new songs ask for a itunes card for a birthday or christmas or some thing like that you can get the newest songs for just 79p you can get to the itunes store from itunes.
