Not surprisingly people want a guarantee that a spell is going to work.
They often expect that it is this powerful thing outside of themselves and that with a blink of their eyes or twitch of their nose it will happen.
The essential ingredient of any spell is actually the spell caster. Not unlike with quantum physics (just to get all high brow on you :-) ) where the person conducting the experiment affects the end results.
So too with the spell caster.
It is about having your energy aligned to what it is you want.
So that when you cast for something you are actually focused on the outcome you want and FEELING into it as if it is a certainty - it is yours already.
As if your focus is instead on 'oh, I hope this happens', 'gosh, nothing every goes right for me, it's not fiar, but maybe this time...'
Or any dialgoue - inner or outer - that is not 110% certain that what you are casting for will happen for you - then it wont.
Here's another juicy bit - it's also important that you have this certainty and you also let it go - not the certainty - just the desire.
As if we hold onto something invariably we squeeze the life from it, or it slips through our fingers.
Whereas if we know with absolute faith that what we wish for will happen, we can then let it go with trust that it will indeed transpire.
I wanted to share those important aspects with you before I share this spell:
Protecting Yourself While Working With Witchcraft Magick
There are other things that you will need to do in order to keep yourself safe. All spell work should begin with some ritual to cleanse and protect the space you are working in. Some call this "Casting the Circle." There are an endless number of variations on ways to prepare your space. Some are more complicated than other. The important thing is to find a ritual that works well for you personally. Below are two options, the first being more simple.
To Prepare and Cleanse a Sacred Space Spell I

Alter or Sacred Space
Salt
Step 1. Lightly sprinkle salt in a circle around yourself while speaking the following words: I consecrate this place/ for the Goddess within and without/ Only love and good can remain/ hate and evil are cast out.
To Prepare and Cleanse a Sacred Space Spell II
Tools and Ingredients
Alter or Sacred Space
Ceremonial knife
One white candle
One red candle
One blue candle
One black candle
Step 1. Imagine your space as a circle and set the candles around it. Place the white candle at a point facing East, the red candle at point facing South, the blue candle at a point facing West and the black candle at a point facing North. If you are using an alter, it is best to position it in the Northern corner.
Step 2. Carrying the knife, go to the Eastern corner and light the candle. Rise and remain facing East. You will now trace a pentagram (five-pointed star) in the air using the knife. Begin at the top of the pentagram and go down to the left, continuing until you return to the top. As you trace the pentagram, speak the following words: I invoke the East and Power of Air/ I call on the Breath of the Goddess/ Protect and guide me.
Step 3. Carrying the knife, go to the Southern corner and light the candle. Rise and remain facing South. You will now trace a pentagram in the air using the knife. Begin at the top of the pentagram and go down to the left, continuing until you return to the top. As you trace the pentagram, speak the following words: I invoke the South and Power of Fire/ I call on the Flame of Her spirit/ Protect and guide me.
Step 4. Carrying the knife, go to the Western corner and light the candle. Rise and remain facing West. You will now trace a pentagram in the air using the knife. Begin at the top of the pentagram and go down to the left, continuing until you return to the top. As you trace the pentagram, speak the following words: I invoke the West and Power of Water/ I call on the Water of Her womb/ Protect and guide me.
Step 5. Carrying the knife, go to the Northern corner and light the candle. Rise and remain facing North. You will now trace a pentagram in the air using the knife. Begin at the top of the pentagram and go down to the left, continuing until you return to the top. As you trace the pentagram, speak the following words: I invoke the North and Power of Earth/ I call on the Earth that is Her body/ Protect and guide me.
Step 6. Complete the ritual by stating, The circle is cast and consecrated/ in the name of the Goddess within and without

Witches are very real. And the key to a spell working is always the spell caster. What makes a witch/magickal practitioner so powerful is their ability to believe what they want to have happen will - to the point that they see, & feel it as their reality now - and so it becomes.
Often people are 'hoping' or waiting for a spell to work - which in fact means their energy and focus is on that it might not - and so it becomes.
You have to have absolute certainty, trust and faith that it will work. You know it will work without doubt and...you know how it goes...so it becomes :-)

Hi Aubrey - short answer is no you do not. Different spells and rituals require different behaviors. Some witches prefer using a circle a lot. A spell can be equally as powerful without it - it depends on what it is you are wanting to divine for and how the spell is constructed.
The main thing is to ALWAYS focus on what you do want and believe it as if it's your reality now - sounds simple - takes practice :-)

Hi Avonti - to be a 'good witch' is all about intent. True witchcraft comes from an open, loving heart - it is a desire to consciously create good in our lives and respect other's free will. It is about taking personal responsibility for our outcomes (you may not choose what happens to you - you have a choice in how you respond to it - and that is what defines you :-) ).
So the key? Come from a place of love and abundance. Look to give - not get. And give to yourself - as when you are feeling happy within yourself you have more to give to others.
Witches generally are very happy people - as they trust in the laws of nature and the universe and know that the power of creating for themselves is very real.

Hi Marie - a lot of what I say to Avonti is also true for you. What you focus on grows.
I prefer to encourage people to spell cast for themselves - as we have the MOST power to effect change for ourselves within ourselves.
First and foremost you need to decide that you want to be over these anxiety attacks.
You need to no longer allow yourself to be a 'victim' to them - as if they have control over you. Instead YOU control your outcomes.
So you make that choice. You then also choose to believe to the point of knowing (so trust and faith - it may be a leap - it's a leap you must take) that you will be rid of them - because you have chosen to be - and your power of choice is what will prevail.
Then you find a spell that feels right to you. You can sign up into our community - but I don't want to push anything onto you - as we do offer a Course :-)

Iam a wiccan have been for many many years .. and yes these divine spells are very powerful... anyway ... Iam looking for a spell to help me win in court against my landlady. To make a long story short ... Ive been paying my rent and the shcame artist was not giving me any recipts . now she is taking me to court saying that Iam seven months behind lol.. would you let a tenant go that long with out paying rent lol.

Thanks for the post - and what I recommend you do as a spell is to write out the scenario you want to achieve regarding your court outcome.
Actually write it as a chapter in the book of your life. And make sure you are rich in the detail.
PLEASE - I say this - and I also do not support or condone any spell work that looks to directly negatively impact on another. Your landlady may well have questionable motives - allow the energies of the Universe to deal with her.
As for you - write the chapter down in rich detail. And as you do this burn a green and a white candle. You may also choose to burn some basil oil, to have basil near you, or pour a few drops of basil onto the green candle.
The green is for abundance, the heart and for justice in a loving way. And the white is for goodness, purity and for creating a clear canvas for good to come to you.
And remember the key is ALWAYS to focus on what it is you desire as if that is your reality.
The more you put your energy into the type of person your land lady is, and concerns, or even outrage at the thought of it going her way...so it will become.
So write what you desire, and focus with an open, loving heart.

i believe i have powers like witches do. please help.... i want to use it positively. i want to learn more how it works.
i havents cast a spell or something but everytime somebody offended me or did something bad to me, they die. this doesnt happened only once. .... others might find this offending... or might think im nuts but it happened. i can even turn back the hand of clock by a second and if um happy... the leaves of trees fell on top of me... when i pass bye. please help, i need somebody who knows about witchcraft to guide me.

The first thing to understand is everyone has the power and ability to make witchcraft work for them. It is about learning how to responsibly and positively.
As you are aware I offer a course which teaches that very thing.
Or you can look to learn off someone in the physical vicinity of where you reside.
One of the first important lessons as a beginner witch, is not to give into fear and hysteria. Witches are grounded and work with the energies of the Universe in a loving, trusting way.
To report of people dying because of them offending you is NOT witchcraft in any way, shape or form.
You may also want to invesitage paranormal behavior and see whether you are unconsciously attracting some negative entities - this is not a field that we are involved with, as again witchcraft is a positive experience and pursuit.

Hi Caz,
We often have a hard time concentrating, because of not feeling settled within. It can be due to anxiety, fear or worry.
All spells require your focus - as witchcraft is based on the principal of like attracts like. So you MUST focus on what you do want, not on what you don't (which may be your current reality).
I would suggest that you spend time meditating each day to calm your mind. Meditation is a great 'pre action' to take prior to casting a spell.
Simply sit quietly, focus on your breath, and if/wehn thoughts flitter through your mind - observe them rather than engage with them - always focusing on your breathe - inhaling deeply through the back of the throat (with your mouth closed), and exhaling deeply through the back of your throat (with your mouth closed).
Stay in this position for 20 mins minimum.

I often wondered if I was a male witch or what?, 90% of the time I know seconds before the cell phone rings or I know what is going to happen at any given moment seconds before it happens Things like that got me curious. This happens more than usual so I know it is not just coincidence. I am a Christian and I am very scared of what my G O D would think........ On the other hand, if I may, I often think that I have some powers of imediate future knowledge. Other things that scare me sometimes, If I predict the future on a personel realm, It comes true. For example, If I predict I will loose some money, It happens, If I predict I will find some money, It happens. If I predict the TV will die or the computer will crash, It does. My question is, Am I a witch?.

Anyone can choose to name themselves a witch, which is a description of someone who works with the energies of the universe to consciously create positive desired outcomes.
You are not born a witch. You may be born into a family that is open and conversant to witchcraft, and therefore you follow in those footsteps with relative ease.
And anyone who has never practised The Craft, but has an interest, can learn how to successfully spell cast.
What you are describing sounds more like ESP and intuition - which again we are all born with - it is just that some people's dials are turned onto a higher frequency than others. And you may be one of these people.
There is nothing to fear, nor anything wrong or evil about it. Rather I recommend you do some investigation with pyshic and paranormal societies, which are different fields to witchcraft.

The advice I offer many people starting out - is that the key is always with where the spell caster's (aka YOU) focus is.
So you may say you want something, but instead you are focused on not having it yet, or that it may not have it, or that you feel empty without what you want.
Magick works on the principal of like attracts like - and that means what you focus on is what you get back.
This is the biggest hurdle we face - being prepared to drop the current 'reality' and emotions around that, and have completed and utter joyous certainty that what we want to have happen will.
And when you do that - and it IS possible through something as simple as a choice you make to focus on what you want, not what you don't want.

My name is Lori and in my 20s started knowing when something bad was going to happen to a loved one or close friend. I was nervous,anxious,knot in my stomach for days,til it happened and then I would be back to normal.But I never knew what the event was til it happened. Now I see shapes out of the corner of my eye sometimes that are not there when I look straight at it.My mom does to. 6 yrs. ago I lived in a haunted house. My bedroom I couldn't sleep in alone because I would get woke up feeling hands touching all over me. 2 times I woke up and had to physically fight to get out of bed. Something had me pinned down,but only after I went to sleep. I moved a couple mo. later and that stopped immediately. I saw alot of those weird shaped figures in that. Here I sometimes see them. I can feel there presence sometimes to I swear one just touched my back as I wrote this to you. Scared to death in Mo.I am new to the craft. Any suggestions.

Thanks for your sharing. What you describe is actually not about witchcraft or our world.
It actually comes under the heading of paranormal experiences - and you would be better to contact a paranormal society if you are interested to explore those occurences further.
Witchcraft is about working with the positive energies of the universe to consciously create desired outcomes.
It is based on having an open loving heart, and faith and therefore certainty that what you want to have happen will - through the power of focus.
It also is based on the principal 'an harm ye none' and respect of another's free will.
Certainly many witches have a heightened 6th sense - and a 6th sense is something we are all born with - some of us are just more tuned into it than others. Again this tends to come from a positive angle - and not the area that you have experienced with entities that sound like they may be malicious or playful at the best.
I hope this gives you some clarification and direction.

Anyone has the ability to be successful with spell casting. The key is to actually believe that what you want to have happen will to the point of absolute certainty.
It is important when working with witchcraft that you respect the right of another's free will and do not spell cast against them - as you will then incurr the wrath of the Rule of Three if you do (you will attract to you something 3 times in magnitude for your wrong doing).
Witchcraft comes from an open hearted space and it works with the energies of the universe.

We ALL have the ability to successful practice magick. The key is to be prepared to believe to the point of certainty that what you cast for will happen. Often we focus on what we do not want - even though we say we want something else, our feelings get wrapped up in our current 'reality' and the angst/anger/pain etc of that.

Hi, I'm not new to the whole magic thing cuz I always wanted to have powers, and say spells and stuff. I have the weirdest dreams when I'm sleeping I just don't know what to do. But I have started saying spells and stuff, and some did'nt work, so I wanna know how can I make my powers more powerful, and how can I unlock my ability to do element spells, like fire and etc.

so one day i went outside and picked up my cat. right when i did this i lost my breathe and got a little sick. i saw a dead cat in my head when this happened. then when i went to the spot where i saw the dead cat sure enough, it was there. if i really do get premonitions then how can i learn to control them?

What you are referring to is a paranormal experience or psychic experience which is different to Witchcraft. My suggestion is that you contact one of the Paranormal Societies which are bonafide and can guide you further.
One thing I would offer is that it is important to respect your gifts. And to always work on yourself to keep an open, loving heart and look to do good for yourself and others (when they give you permission to do so).
Your gift is not something to be feared. And you will 'see' things that in many ways will reflect your own emotional well being - so if you ensure that you are as emotionally happy and fulfilled yourself - you will experience happy and fulfillng insights.

Hi Saya,
We all have power within us. You may say you are feeling depressed and it will be a very real feeling for you. And also its important to know that it is ultimately a choice you are making.
You are choosing to respond to stimulus - either externally (outside of yourself) or within your own mind - in a negative, depressed manner.
So that in turn depletes your own personal power.
In order to give yourself back your inner power - and we ALL have it, bucket loads of it. You need to work hard at making choices for yourself that bring you joy.
That involves with your own thinking and your own actions. A tip - seeing another's downfall will not bring you joy - it may bring you short term satisfaction - but it depletes our energy even more.
So work on the thoughts in your own mind. Make a choice to look for what is right in your world, as opposed to what is wrong. And be determined to find things that are right - even if it is as simple as you have a nice pillow to rest your head on, there is food in your refridgerator, or the sun is shining.
It is about changing your outlook to look for positives, as opposed to negatives. And you NEVER look to another or make it their responsibility for your own happiness - that is up to you - and it may require you to move away from some people/situations or at the very least not engage energetically with them.

The key to a spells success is ALWAYS with the spell caster. What is required of you as the spell caster is to have absolute certainty and faith that what you want to have happen will. So if you are waiting or wondering - you are in fact sending out an energy of 'not having'.
So what you need to do is choose to have faith, and let go the waiting, need, and trust it will happen - and so it will become!

How do you know if you have unlocked the rule o three?
The Rule of Three is powerful. And works in both the positive and negative sense. I am guessing you mean it in the latter sense - and what it means is that for a deed where you harm another - be that through ignoring their right to free will, or causing them emotional, physical or spiritual harm - you can expect to receive the same back three times in magnitude.
There is no timing on it that it will happen necessarily within hours or minutes. What you can be assured in knowing is that you have invoked the Rule of Three if you have betrayed another's right to Free Will. Or harmed another in some way.
And the threat of that should not be the motivation not to harm another. Instead it is about coming from a place of love for ourselves and others where such behaviors are just not an option.

They are two very different comments.
First of all when you learn about The Craft you will learn about the role of Libations and the Law of Value exchange. That for anything we receive it is about it having a value which you 'pay for' in reciprocation.
For example you may use a branch from a tree - so you need to a) ask the tree permission to use it and b) offer it a payment of some form - it may be water, protection - something in reciprocation.
It is all energy transference and money is also a form of energy.
It is our hang-ups about money and it being 'bad', 'wrong', scarce etc that causes so many problems.
The Universe is a place of abundance and energy transference - there is always enough of everything and we simply transfer energy forms for receipt/payment - it is a giving and receiving approach, as opposed to a getting & taking approach.

Dear arabella, i have drifted in and out of different sites like the one you have here, for the last 6-7 years, just reading posts like the one above. I was born and raised a methodist and later converted to the Luthern relegion in hopes that i would find something I am looking for. Unfortuantly that never stuck more than a few years before i found myself once again looking for whatever it is i am looking for. I am a fan of Sylvia Browne and i have read up on ther "Novus??" relegion that she started and i have looked at alot of new age relegions and i am just at a cross road as to where i fit in.? I beleive in our god but i beleive that there are some very big mysteries out there and there is ALOT that we do not know and see that is all around us. I want to be a part of that but i don't know wich way to turn. I think that i became a little lost and curious too, right around the time my husband died of a brain tumor at age 33 and left me with a new baby and two other very little ones. I feel him around me alot and i use to have visits from people that i don't know when i was younger, but i surpressed them all and i can't seem to get much of it back. This could explain why my youngest daughter was said by a few to be Indigo or one of the "rainbow children"?? she seems to amaze me over and over with her knowledge. Do you think that i should consider joining your site? I'm not sure what i am looking for or where i belong, but i am willing to give anything a whirl. Thanks,........julie u.

It's VERY hard because at the back of my mind im still thinking... this can still NOT happen... so lets see? Im really stuck on that, which is probably why none of the stuff Ive done in the past have worked. Let's say Ive sent an email to a guy I like..and in perfect love and not messing with his free will... i want to send energy towards getting an answer? or for him to get in touch? id picture in my mind getting an email from him..right? and just focus on it as if it was a REALITY and it actually HAS HAPPENED? The problem is, a part of me doesnt want him to answer cos i cant really be bothered.. LOL.

Hi, I have a few questions. First, what do you think the minimum age would have to be to join your Course (If there is one)? Because I am 12 and I guess you would call me a witch in training. I have alot of spell books on my bookshelves, but I havent cast any spells yet. I am very interested in the occult, too. Anyway, I also wanted to know if you have any tips on how to concentrate better when casting a spell. One more thing, the reason I havent cast any spells yet is because lots of the ones I have call for ingredients (and i mean, ones that are very hard to find...) so do you know any that don't really call for "hard-to-find" ingredients like altars, sacred places, crystals, etc. or any places to find such things? I appreciate you must be going through a challenging time.
True witchcraft does not condone casting a spell that would go against the free will of another.
Your husband must be free to decide as he wishes, freely.
I suggest you talk to him and find out what his issues are. What is missing for him. And I also suggest counselling.
As to end a marriage is a big call, and he may not be aware of the impact that it would have on both your lives.
And also for you to (understandably, but not helpfully) respond at the moment to his comments with fear and need, you are likely to close him down more to conversation.
If anything I would suggest that you cast a harmony spell, or a spell to improve the energy around you and what you attract. And maybe even a self love and confidence spell.
All of these type spells are about you and do not contravene the free will of another - and still attract positive energy your way.

This is my first time to read about witchcraft. Your replies to all questions sounds to me like similar to Bible teachings. Is witchcraft another form of prayer??? The way I understand the word "Spell" is pray to what ever you believe in----energy, fire, water, god, goddess, etc.

Conscious creations and manifestation can come under many names. Witchcraft is to be found in most cultures and religions - ancient and current.
True witchcraft comes from an open, loving heart and is based on respecting another's free will and never setting out to harm another.
Other 'versions' are misrepresentations of it's true form.

I have been battling in court with another business for quite some time. in the midst of this battle I have been bewitched, rushed to the hospital with unexplanable pains in my kidneys. The important thing to know is that someone can NOT bewitch you unless you receive it.
Meaning that if you strongly and very definitely choose not to believe it is possible that you were bewitched - then the magic can not reach you and do you harm.
That is the first important thing to know - and step to take.
As you need to believe and know your power - and even if you allowed it previously - it is now banished from you.
I would also suggest a banishing spell.

Again - the most important and immediate thing you can do for yourself right now - is to draw on your own power to protect yourself.
I would also recommend that you white light your body.

Hello. I came across this site while i was looking for spells. I am no magical, psyhic, being; just an ordinary gal. I understand that you need practice in these spells for them to work. I'm catholic/christian, and i don't want to be doing any "black magic" or anything that would be against my religion. I really want a wish to be granted. I am SO sincere in this wish, i've been wishing it for months. I don't know where else to turn for guidance. It seems as if this wish is impossible in thers eyes, but not mine. I KNOW that this wish can be granted if i use the right materials. Thats where i'm having trouble. I don't know what kind of spells are the most efficient. My spell is about my apperance, and it seems like only a difficult spell could d the task. Any suggestions? I think what i need the most is answers and support at the moment.

Magick is very powerful, and true magick is white magick. You can indeed create what it is you desire. As long as it is not going against the free will of another.
If you are looking to make a person respond to you in a certain way - you are then going into the dark realms, which is not an area we engage with in any way.
If it is just for you - then the success of casting a spell rests with you - and your preparedness to absolutely believe to the point of certainty that what you want to have happen will.
Spells do not work when you focus on what you don't want, or worry, fear it may not happen or hope it will.
You have to know and believe it will - truly - and it will.
I hope this gives you some more incite. And witchcraft and magick is non denominational - meaning you can be a Christian and practice magick - as long as it is white magick you practice.
