My Freezer is not getting cold. Sometimes my freezer gets too cold. Is there any solution to this freezer problem?

If you freezer seems to be working but is not getting cold enough, there may be some problem with the temperature settings or with the condenser. Check following:

1. See if the temperature setting is OK. If Not, Set it at the desired temperature.

2. Make sure that the freezer is not overly crowded with food stuffs and that there is enough room for air movement. If yes, remove some of the food items. You are storing food items in the freezer beyond its capacity.

3. The condenser coils may need some cleaning.

4. Check the door seals and see if the door is properly closed or not.

5. Test defrost heater and defrost timer.

6. See if the evaporator fan is working properly.

7. Check the drain tube.

8. Check for any refrigerant leak.

9. If your freezer gets too cold, check the temperature setting and the temperature control.

If you are still not able to fix the problem, it is time to call the customer care or some appliance repair professional.



Freezer Light Problems:

My Freezer does not run at all and the light does not work. What is the problem with my freezer?

If your freezer does not run at all and even the lights does not work, make sure the freezer is plugged in If it is plugged in, and check the fuse or the circuit breaker. If everything is OK, check if the freezer is getting required power from the power outlet. There may also be some damage in the electrical wiring. Never use any extension cord to rung a freezer. It should have separate electrical wiring and power outlet. If everything is OK, call your customer care of a profession repair person.

My Freezer does not run, but the light works. Where is the problem?

If your freezer is not running but the light works,there may be some problem with thetemperature setting. Check and fix it. Also clean the condenser coils. Unplug the freezer from the power supply and wait two - three hours and again plug it in. Now if it is running, there is a problem in the compressor. You may have to test the temperature controls, evaporator fan, defrost timer, compressor relay, overload protector, compressor motor . If you are not a professional, call some expert.

The light of my freezer does not work. What do I do?

If your freezer is working fine but the light is not working, check the bulb. Maybe it is time to replace the bulb. Also check the door switch.

Freezer Defrost problem

I have a freezer with automatic defrost but it doest not defrost automatically. What is the problem and how do I fix this problem?

If your freezer defrost automatically, test the defrost timer, defrost heater and the thermostat. Are these entire freezer parts OK? If yes, call your customer care or some appliance repair expert.

My Freezer makes too much noise. How do I fix this?

Some hissing noise is normal with freezers because of the defrost heater. Still, you can check if the freezer is freezer is level, check the condenser and evaporator fan and the compressor mounts. If you are still not satisfied call a repair person.

Why is my freezer running contentiously?

You may need to defrost the freezer, clean the condenser coils and check the door seal.


Other freezer problems and solutions

Freezer starts and stops frequently: Clean the condensor coils and check the outlet voltage. Also check the condensor fan, compressor relay, overload protector, compressor motor.

Freezer has an unpleasant odor: There may be some spoiled food inside. Remove and clean the interior with hot water and baking soda. Clean the door seals.

There is water outside of freezer: Check the drain pan. If you have an ice-maker, check the water inlet and outlet hose. There may be some problem with the hose and probably there is some water leakage.

There is water inside the freezer: The drain tube may be clogged. Clean it. If you have an ice-maker, check freezer and ice-maker for level. Maybe the level is not OK.
