Pros and Cons of frequent Job change

This has been the state with me since some time now. I have been changing jobs from home business to freelancing to field work and nowadays trying my ways to earn at hubpages. It has been a very bad experience to tell you the truth. Although it gets quite boring doing the same thing everyday and you do tend to do something different every new day but then I think the total outcome of changing jobs or not sticking to one job is disastrous.

The whole idea of job changing comes from the need of change or from the salary point of view. Either you get bored of your regular duties or you think you are not being paid sufficiently of your hard work. Personally I always kept thinking I wasn’t being paid the exact amount I should have been.

The advantages of basically changing jobs all the time cant be any except for the fact that you get to know many people in the market plus you gain various talents but finally its not much worth of it. The frequency should be very low according to me.

The disadvantages I think play a vital role, people think you are unstable and don’t tend to keep you on the job because of the fear that you would leave them too. Plus many would also think that although you would have a considerable knowledge of the market, you would demand for more salary than the one they could afford.

Basically I think there are many disadvantages which are uncountable and less advantages and my advice would be NOT to change jobs and stick to one for a longer time.

Dude, I remember your name from a workshop I attended with you. It's nice to read a well written article specially when I am on the verge of switching another job :)

Well, in my point of view I also have the 'jaldi get bored' + 'i can get better pay' syndrome. But its fine to switch a few jobs to search sanity and peace of mind in a span of 2 to 3 years. We always have the excuse of lack of career couseling that leads many of us to search for our safe havens :)

well its a very nice context to debate on. my opinion is same as yours!. switching jobs so frequently is not a healthly decision to make. most of the people usually do this mistake during their professional life. i think one should concentrate on the process of learning and gaining experience rather than on other issues like pay, type of job, environment etc. greed for making money in abundance and desire for being more successful in a very short span not always attained, it reqires a lot of effort and patience. one must has to be honest and sincere to oneself and to the place where he is offering his services.
