Fresh applesauce

Now that fall is almost here Granny Smith and Pippin apples will be at their best. There is nothing like applesauce made at home and I would like to share this simple recipe with its variations with everyone.

You will need 3 lbs. of a tart cooking apples like Granny Smith or Pippin

1/2 cup honey

1.Begin by peeling and cutting apples into chunks

2.Put in medium pot and add honey.

3.Allow mixture to come to a boil (do not leave pot unattended on stove)

Reduce heat to low and cover pot.

4.Cook for approximately 30 minutes or until apples become soft.

5.Use a potato masher or a fork to break up the apples,.

6.Wait for apples to cool, then refrigerate until ready to serve.

This recipe yields about 8 servings.

Warning!!! Applesauce will disappear from refrigerator very quickly.
