Am I Friend?

Knock, knock, let me in

Don't lock me out

Cause your light is dim.

I'm here for you

Always - 'tis true.

Said I would,

Why not now?

Think life's troubles

Deal friendship a pow-wow?

When are we friends?

Your job's intact - I give you a slap.

Kids doing well in school -

Yea, we're cool.

Spouse's a honey, teddy bear

No doubt - let's cheer.

Wait, here comes a bump, a sore -

You lock the door and say, "No more."

Let me in

Alone, don't swim.

Take my hand

Hold it tight

Help to life's promised land

That's your right

Am I friend

When all is well,

But just someone

When trouble's on?

No, stop!

This won't fly,

Love and commitment do not lie.

Friends are friends who hang in tough,

Climb your mountains,

Trudge your valleys.

I am friend - riding your joys, your pains

Unstoppable, to life's end.

You express your kind, responsible, faithful thoughts very well, very touching to read that someone wants to be a real friend...

Thanks, frogyfish. I believe so many people long to be real friends, but somehow fall short along the way.

Vikki passed away. Vikki died! Vikki’s dead! I’m trying to figure out how to respond when someone asks how Vikki’s doing. It doesn’t even sound right coming out of my mouth. It overwhelms me! I don’t want to answer a bunch of questions. I don’t even want to talk about it. I stopped crying every day, but I’m not done. At times, I feel like I’ve never been sadder in my life.My sister and friend ...

Hmmm, Arlene Phillips even looks a bit like my old ballet teacher — a small bat with a puff of dark hair, although luckily no stained League of Gentlemen leg-warmers.
