I found this request in the request tab and I thought, I haven't let people know what my favorite songs are.

It is very difficult to name favorites, but I will attempt it.

I love all gospel music, so I am going to leave that out of the mix.

These are in no particular order. Just the great songs I love.

Love Me Tender

Yea, Froggy loves Elvis.

I am always seranading my wife with this song. I sing it in the shower, in the car, and almost anywhere I can get away with it.

I'm betting there will be few who disagree with my choice here.

My Way

Here is another song you will catch me singing all the time.

Many famous people have done this song; I especially like this rendition by Englebert Humperdink.

Cover of the Rolling Stone

Yep the wife is on guard if I start singing this. She knows I'm frisky when this song is coming out of my mouth.

I actually love all of Dr. Hook's songs.

I want my picture on the Cover of the Rolling Stone!

If You Want To Get To Heaven, You Got To Raise A Little Hell

My wife says I have lived up to this song. I probably have.

Who can't love the Ozark Mountain Daredevils?

I want to dance and party now. Who's in?

Daniel

I have always been moved by sad songs and that is what Daniel is.

Sir Elton John wrote a hit here and I love it.

Free For All

Back when this song first came out I played and played it. I think everyone that was around me grew quite tired of it.

Ted Nugent has that brand of energy that just gets me going.

I Hope

I really hope you enjoyed my favorite songs. Let me know what your favorite song is.

Thanks for reading!

Elvis did some good work, Froggy, especially on ballads such as "Love Me Tender," but it'll never match the greatest singer ever, Bing Crosby. "Did You Ever See a Dream Walking" is one of my favorites --http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8KfidcGl70

Engelbert is OK, too, but listen to this "My Way" by my cousin Michael and tell me who's better -- http://hubpages.com/hub/Michael-Torpey

I never heard of Dr. Hook, but I like the video. The Elton John video's OK, too. But, aside from Crosby and my cousin, I'll stick with Nat King Cole, Billy Eckstine and Perry Como.

I just knew I made a mistake by leaving Bing out. My apologies.

Thats a great video--I think you should do a Torpey's Favorites!!

Wow--Your cousin is very good!!!!

Thanks, Froggy. A Torpey's Favorites sounds like a great idea!

I understand about Bing. Unfortunately, the younger generations haven't had an opportunity to see -- and hear -- how great Bing is (He's still incredible more than 30 years after he left us!) I'm planning to do a hub, or blog post, to prove my point.

I knew you'd like my cousin. He's a pro.

Great song choices. I really like "Desert Skies" by the Marshall Tucker Band, and Fire in the Mountain.

Froggy,

I’ve always loved Elvis and to pick a favorite is beyond me.  I liked a lot of the rockabilly like “that’s all right mama”.  But later in life my love turned to the man that Elvis loved, Jake Hess and gospel music.  So much of the Elvis music sounds like Jake, especially the crooned melodies.

Thank you for a great hub. ~ eddie

Thanks Froggy . .I forgot how much I liked Englebert Humperdink! But those sideburns .. scary to look at them today but I guess back then they were the rage!

Elvis is a love but one I never forget . . especially when (my favorite) Springsteen does a rendition of "Cant Help Falling In Love With You"

Again great Hub. . feel lucky I stumbled upon it!
