Indian Outsourcing
The country of India is the most famed and preferred solution available in the market, when it comes to seek outsourcing assistance. More and more business organizations from all around the world are getting associated with the Indian outsourcing firms on the account of their remarkable efficiency and perfect work mechanism. And this statement is completely justified on holding the discussion about the software outsourcing India. This is mainly because the industry of information technology has shown significant growth in the last two decades. Countless brilliant and highly qualified software professionals are involved with this entire phenomenon of outsourcing software services to the business organizations located at the various corners of the world.
When you're thinking of outsourcing, the first thing that comes to mind is a picture of a call center agent from India. Yup, India is in the forefront of the outsourcing industry. A lot of businesses rely on Indian outsourcing firms to help them on non core tasks because of their excellent work procedures and efficiency. Information technology has greatly expanded over a couple of years. Today, literally thousands of brilliant professionals who are software savy are involved in this worldwide craze of outsourcing tech services to software services.
Indian outsourcing have been well recognized and well received. The quality of work is outstanding. They are also up to date in terms of software and techniques. Their cost of setting up is substantially lower as compared to having a regular in house employee. What's even better is that you can do that on a contractual basis so if the term ends or if the project ends then they can stop working for you. And in India, you won't exhaust the pool of qualified professionals there. The main thing that entices American and European countries to pick them is that they are adept in the English language. Few other countries are so familiar with English that it makes India stand out. It takes out the need for an interpreter. Everything from data to software need not to be converted.
Also when new developments are abound, Indian outsourcing companies automatically jump on the bandwagon. They try to incorporate it in their software strategies so that they too will become up to date. All the more making them favorable than other outsourcing firms from other countries.
Although everything looks perfect, it is always safe to search out and be informed that there are also fraudulent practitioners out there. Existing only to take away the money from you. They can bring your company down with their poor skills, incompetent work and irresponsible behavior. Be safe plan ahead and check out their portfolios, testimonials and even referrals/clients just so that these people won't drag you and your business down.
The Philippines BPO Industry
The BPO industry is growing at a fantastic rate. The demand for outsourcing throughout the world is staggering. Imagine, the revenue could reach in the trillions of dollars and by the end of 2010 who knows. The largest chunk of the industry's revenue lies in the call center services, customer support, hr, accounting and finance areas.
In the Asia Pacific Region, The Philippines is in the forefront of Business Process Outsourcing and is ranked in the number 3 position in the world. Highly qualified and established agents are the main staple for Philippine BPO services. And with English as their secondary language, they're a force to be reckoned with. With its cost-effectiveness and quality output as its strong points, it is poised to boost the country in this century.
Offshore contact centers or call centers currently form the biggest part of the BPO industry in the Philippines. The country was able to put itself in the BPO map when it grabbed the 3rd place from Malaysia in 2006 with an offshore generating revenue of more than $2, trailing only a little behind India and China. What was more phenomenal was that the Philippines was able to pose a 62% growth in just 2 years, and this exponential growth rate is expected to continue to keep rising. The Philippine BPO industry is expected to earn around $11 billion and employ almost a million people by the end of the decade.
Call center make the main bulk of the services offered in the Philippines. It trails only a few paces with other BPO countries such as India and China. It even beat Malaysia to grab the third spot. Now, the BPO industry in the Philippines employs about a million people thus improving on its labor force.
Other forms of outsourcing services have contributed to the Philippines's rise in the business sector. Still, call centers make the main bulk of the industry. There's even new services such as animation, video editing and some fairly older ones like web design, legal transcription, medical transcription and web development. Philippine outsourcing has taken a lot of steps in order to become king of the hill. There are now a lot of trainings and development undertakings just to improve its current manpower pool.
The Philippine government is also helping in BPO's rise in the country and making favorable for foreign investors. This helps to sustain the industry and keep it up to date.
BPO facilities can now be seen all over the archipelago, from the most developed cities to the big provinces. BPO growth has helped trim down the unemployment rate by a huge percentage. Large, medium and small BPO businesses alike are being established tightening the competition, and thus improving the quality of services. The Philippines has already secured its spot as steady part of the top 10 choices for offshore operations in the world.
From big cities like Manila to large remote provinces in the south of the country, BPO facilities are springing up everywhere. It has helped improved the current problem of unemployment in most cities there. There's stiff competition to establish BPO services around the country because even large and small companies are joining in the fray. This would mean one thing and thats improvement of services.
Call center agents have long shyed away from being simple email response teams and service providers. They have evolved into more specialized tasks such as technical support, customer care, legal services, food services, you name it. There's no job too hard and complex for these guys.
And because the country has English as its second language, they're on familiar grounds when it comes to communicating with their bosses. Much of the clientele also belong to developed nations such as the United States and United Kingdom making English as their preferred choice of communication.
Philippines a Force in the Outsourcing Industry
Transcription providers take tasks such as medical reports, discharge
notes, notes on operation, rehab progress notes, charts and clinical
reports using up to date software and hardware to record data and
voice. Trainings and seminar are frequently held to keep these agents
in the forefront. Transcription is a quality intensive service.
Anything less than the accuracy rate of 90+ would be unfavorable and
would force their clients to search for new ones.
Luckily to
prevent stagnant and poor quality services, a tough certification
process has been employed to each BPO firm in order to be able to
provide services to foreign clients. This will improve their services
which will in turn improve how their clients view them. Satisfied
clients would likely mean more clients who will look for their services
in the future.
Even in the logistics, accounting and finance
department, outsourcing services have also been used on backend
operations like bookkeeping and accouting have been exploited to and to
a degree. Its too many to list that it seems that anything that can be
encoded into a computer and made as data can be outsourced.
All
in all, the Philippines is poised to take over India in global
outsourcing. Familiarity with the English language is its added plus
and also its ever growing and improving IT sector and its low cost but
excellent services is a sure perfect for the BPO industry to take hold
to.
Schools and colleges have also incorporated IT and
business curriculums in their schools. Every year thousands of
accounting, hrm and engineering graduates are produced by the nation.
Also, the Philippines does not lag behind when it comes to the business
scene. Even the mentality of being known as a workaholic even goes to
the Filipino's favor. They are resilient, trainable as well as
adaptable.
It is a fact that Filipinos are number one when it
comes to the amount of knowledge-base jobs and workers. The labor
quality isn't far behind also. In fact, it ranks fourth in Asia. Even
advanced techniques like animation and software development are
undertake by them. From the easy email and voice customer support up to
the most advanced 3d animation, Filipinos are favored to to these jobs.
A
lot of Hollywood experts agree that a lot of Filipinos have entered the
realm of animation. They are greatly sought after because of their
expertise. Once though as a kids only genre, animation is almost found
everywhere in media. Not only for entertainment, animation is found in
games, in the Internet or even in documentaries such as Discovery
Channel.
From production to post production, a lot of Filipinos
have taken animation jobs. From 2D to 3D animation, web design, flash,
etc, they can provide it. Disney, Warner Brothers, Nickelodeon, Hanna
Barbera and even those Japanese animation called Anime have been
pooling Filipinos for their expertise. Some have favored them even to
the point of setting up offices in Philippines.
Since India is
still no. 1 for now, the Philippines is fast becoming a force to be
reckoned with in the software and web development department. Foreign
countries are starting to favor the Philippines over other ones.
American and European corporations are looking into this particular
nation to set up their businesses and take advantage of the low cost
but high quality services the people of this great nation can offer.
Which Country to Pick to Outsource
Sometimes you overhear somebody talking about outsourcing or you get into a conversation with someone on that topic, the first thing that you heard is that the outsourced person involved would probably be Indian. That is nice to heard. Indian outsourcing is probably the most popular option these days. But popular doesn't mean that it is the best one that you want for your business.
Hiring from an outsourcing firm can sometimes be tricky. You have to make sure that the one you picked is reliable. If in an event or situation that they are not up to task, the bad image it has conjured will also affect the way people see your company. Customers and clients do not care about why you got yourself in that situation. So to prevent that, you got to find an outsourcing firm that is competent, reliable and stable much like the country the outsourcing came from.
So why is India always talked about when it comes to outsourcing? Do they really measure up? I think not. In India, power or water can sometimes be in short supply. So, why bother? Well, if you're outsourcing some agents there and for some unknown reason power outages occur for example 8 hours. That would mean 8 hours of downtime for you and your customers. That is very disastrous for anybody's business.
OK, so the outsourcing firm you got has contingency plans when times of outages and other problems occur that might hamper business operations. That's good but the contingency plan comes at a price and that will be show up as extra fees from your outsource. So in the end, you'll still be the one to pay.
"What!!!" You may shout out. Well, that's true. A lot of A1 companies usually charge from 15-40 dollars which can become a pretty big investment. Talk about trying to save money instead your budget gets strained.
So why don't you try another country? The Philippines is a great example. Countries with stable and reliable infrastructures save you operational costs in the long run. You would get quality service at a fraction of the cost.
So having this country as your outsource origin would be a better and safer choice. North American English is also like a second language there so there would be less problems when it comes to communication between the owner and employee. Nowadays, even firms from India are using workers from the Philippines to fill up their workforce. Now that's something to consider.
