Paul and The Lord

Paul is Blinded
Paul is Blinded

Saul of Tarsus

The Lord has shown me to speak to you with the knowledge of the Spirit that lives within me of the Truth of his Word in using Saul as a Vessel of God to build up the Church of Christ he was trying to destroy. We only know that the Spirit of God can turn people into a powerful message for his Glory. Even so was Saul so feared among the Jews and early Christians. That many were afraid of him. To a Paul that is shown humility after seeing things that were unspeakable!

Saul see's Stephen Stoned to Death.

But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, Acts:7:55,56,57,58

And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

And cast [him] out of the city, and stoned [him]: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon [God], and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit

And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

Acts 8:1 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed [them] to prison.Acts8:3

And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,Acts 9:1,2

And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. Acts9:3,4,5,6,7,8

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: [it is] hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought [him] into Damascus.

And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I [am here], Lord. Acts 9:10

And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for [one] called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, Acts 9:11

Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:Acts 9:13

And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. acts 9:14

I love this scripture where the Lord calls Ananias it reminded me in a way when the Lord asked Isaiah who will go Issiah said I will go Lord. Now here we have Ananias The Lord comes unto him in a vision and he say's I am here Lord. But when the Lord told him about going to Saul. Then Ananias was troubled for this man Saul has done much evil to thy saints. You see Saul was truly feared but the Lord used him for his Glory

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: Acts 9:15,16,17

And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, [even] Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.Acts 9:18

And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.Acts 9:19,20

And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

But all that heard [him] were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?Acts 9:21,22

But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.Acts11:25,26

Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul. Acts 11:29,30

And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled [their] ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark. Acts 12:25

Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. Acts 13:1,2

Then Saul, (who also [is called] Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,Acts 13:9

Here is where Saul is now Paul so we have seen a transformation in Saul to now become Paul and to be used in a most Powerful way by the Holy Spirit of God. Now the man they feared the most was turning into the man that would Love them with the Spirit of Christ.

Paul Grows in the Spirit

Paul went though growth in the Spirit and his Faith he became the Lords man to take the Word unto the Gentiles.

Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with [his] hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.Acts 13:16

Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.Acts 13:43,44

And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. Acts 13:45,46

And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.Acts 13:49

And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. Acts 14:11

And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:Acts 14:15

When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question. Acts 15:2

Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.Acts 15:12

But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast [us] into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;

And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

And all the men were about twelve. Acts 19:6,7

And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.Acts 19:12,11

And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified Acts 19: 15,17

Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

The Holy Spirits use of Paul was so instrumental in the growth of the early Church the chose him as a vessel to build the Church he was trying to destroy with the fearlessness he used to to challenge the Early Church the Lord used that same fearlessness to help build the Early Church and to bring the Word of God to the Gentiles

Paul Shown Humility

Paul was shown humility when he explains to us his vision where he was taken up into the third level of heaven and saw things that could not be spoken of. 2 Corn12:1-12

It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)

How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.

For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but [now] I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me [to be], or [that] he heareth of me.

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.

Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

You see people that think it to be within our reach to become as gods that they can become a more Stronger Apostle than Paul himself. You are wrong in the teaching or your beliefs that you can become as God. As shown to you though the scriptures Paul had the Power of the Holy Spirit so strong people could be healed by a cloth of his if they touch it or it touched them. But now you see that Paul was taken up and shown things that were unspeakable. But he got caught up in the thinking to much of himself so the Lord put a thorn in his flesh by satan. Paul even went to the Lord three times to ask for him to remove it and was told My GRACE is suffcient for thee.   Amen

Paul Shows us how we should be concerning each other!

We must be careful how we measure ourselves and we are subject unto God's measurement!

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

But we will not boast of things without [our] measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.

We must not disrespect God by using his name with small fonts this is not to be permitted any longer. I will delete any and all comments who are disrespectful to My God.

Such truth! "Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles."

I've shared this miracle of Saul becoming Paul to those who believe salvation is somehow forced on us, like they feel it happened to Saul (that he had no choice).  Indeed, these are they who still will not receive the word and feel unworthy of salvation.

The most incredible thing, is that a previous enemy of the saints indeed wrote 25% of the very Bible we live by!  Praise be to God, the Most High.  His grace is greater than all our sin!  Hallelujiah!

Yes my sister and brother in Christ Jesus as I wanted to point out Paul was used in such a Mighty way by our Lord and Savior. Yes in his ministry he was indeed a very big part of bringing the word unto the Gentiles. The Rock our Foundation, our Cornerstone is indeed Jesus Christ. And his Grace is Amazing. Carrie as you stated he wrote so much of the New Testament through the Holy Spirit of God. Amen

The story of Paul is truly amazing.  God does indeed choose men that men would not choose for their missions.  And then, when we look back and see how God worked it out, it becomes clear to our little minds.  It could not have been this way, had it not been this way by divine Providence.

Hell-No, you choose daily not to accept salvation, and that is the truth. You hide behind this false doctrine and it has no power over the truth. You really need to quit harassing God, as God even said to Saul, "Why dost thou persecute Me?" He's saying the same thing to you, Hell-No.

Hell No is correct. Man does not possess freewill - He lost it in the Garden of Eden and even there it's questionable because man was always going to fail and fall.

Man in the fallen condition can only do the Devil's will through the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. A man is not free (does not have freewill) until he is Born Again.

"The Truth shall set you free and ye shall be free indeed." Man before this moment in time is a SLAVE TO SIN and slaves do not have freewill - period.

Saul had no say in his calling. The Father called in a very powerful way through the blindness and Paul said "Here am I" just like Samuel did:

1 Sam 3:4 (KJV) That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.

It's time to repent of the blasphemous: "I accepted Jesus as my saviour" garbage.

Choose life

De:30:19: I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

The choice is all sinners choice dont think you are special, and you were the only one God chose...... Better if you spread the good news not " Garbage"

yes2truth profile image

yes2truth  says:

What a disgrace to the name "Lion of Judah" I bet he's turning in his grave.

I have set before you life and death knowing full well you will only choose death because your father Adam chose death and I also know you can do nothing else because he ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and everything is to my glory saith the Lord. The second Adam will be your only chance for life.

Sinners have no choices they are slaves to sin and slaves have no choices they have to do their master's will and their master is the Devil and let's face it you should know!

Hell N0  says:

Not only isn't free will scriptural, it is impossible, scientifically and psychologicaly. Everything is a result of several causes, most of which we cannot even recognize. Adam didn't lose free will in the garden. He never had it. And of course sinners have choices. That's not free will because choices are never free of cause.

yes2truth profile image

yes2truth  says:

Hell No

How can slaves have choices?

In the fallen condition it doesn't matter what men do, whether good or evil they are still fallen - lost and unsaved - their non-choices or 'choices' are an irrelevance.

Are you not contradicting yourself when you say Adam and Eve had no freewill and then you say sinners have choices? Anyone who has choices has freewill.

Hell N0  says:

Wrong Y2T. Read my hub on free will and you will see that choices are caused and free will is a hoax. The bible is full of examples of people making choices. A computer can make thousands of choices in seconds. They do not have free will. I know the immature in spirit will suggest that I say people are just like computers. Not at all. Computers make choices way faster than we do. But computers don't have emotions or values. They do exactly what they are programmed to do and when they screw up, it's a result of man's faulty design. God designs perfectly for what He has planned. But we do make choices. Slaves make choices. They can choose to do or not to do. Rewards and consequences are the result of choices. Again, choices are caused. Adam didn't cause his will to be what it was. Our will is a result of thousands and millions of causes. We make choices based on our will at that moment.

Carrie Bradshaw profile image

Carrie Bradshaw  says:

Lion of Judah, Praise God for you! Keep that sword of truth cutting through the lies. Man claiming he has no freewill or choice is a cop out for choosing the life of sin willingly, and loving his life of sin, and blaming God for it. This cop-out doctrine is not the truth of the Lord.

yes2truth profile image

yes2truth  says:

Hell No

I am not saying man has freewill I, like you, am saying he hasn't, so if he hasn't he cannot make choices. You cannot have it both ways. Slaves to sin are slaves to sin, they have no options they can only do the Devil's will. It's just that man thinks he has freewill. As do deluded mainstream Christians as we can see from the comment above mine.

Faith in Jesus Christ saves us; allowing His Spirit into our hearts saves us and is the blood covering for our sinful flesh. We will never escape the sin of the flesh as long as we live in the flesh, but the forgiveness of Jesus Christ and His Spirit in us is HIS righteousness, not ours. We will never be righteous on our own. The book of Romans talks about this. It seems you think that as long as sin dwells in the body, one cannot possibly be saved. This is not what the Bible says.

Hell No,

"Just as a slave can choose to ignore his master"

This is nonsense, a slave HAS to obey his master or he dies, he has no choices.

"a person can choose not to sin."

Here in this statement you are missing the point completely. It doesn't matter whether he 'chooses' to sin or not, he is still lost and unsaved - fallen without freewill. Do you not understand that the supposed choices that man makes in the fallen condition are not choices at all. Whatever he does, good or bad, sin or no sin, he is still lost and fallen. In effect his 'choices' are an irrelevance so they are not real choices.

A man has to be Born Again in order to be free and have freewill.

Y2T, you act as if a choice must always have a possitive result.  A choice is never defined as "a decision leading only to a possitive outcome".  You confuse ability to make choices with ability to please God.  A choice is any decision made where there were more than one alternative.  And death counts as an alternative so even a slave can choose to refuse to obey, even if he is going to be fed to the lions as punishment.  And you still think free will is a real thing that may or may not be possible today, or in the future?  You must read my hub.  I show exactly why free will is a hoax.  I can show scripturaly why it's a hoax also.  But I can choose to rob a liquer store tonight.  It probably wouldn't end well for me though.  I don't know what exactly you are arguing.

"I don't know what exactly you are arguing."

I am not arguing, I am telling you The Truth. Man is fallen and he lives beneath the Tree of the Knowledge of GOOD and EVIL - the Devil's Tree.

This tree is like an umbrella and mankind lives under it and he does good and evil whilst he lives under it. When he makes what he thinks are choices whether to do good or evil he is still fallen and he is still lost and he is doing the Devil's will. This means by default that whatever 'decision' or 'choice' he makes he has changed nothing - he is still fallen so his will is meaningless it's an irrelevance, so therefore he is not free and cannot have freewill. Man can only do two things either he does the Devil's will as a lost living soul or he can do The Father's will after the Father has called him to His Son. There is no midway where man makes his own real decisions or choices. Man in is lost fallen condition has no choices.

All man can do, until the Father calls him, is the Devil's will living beneath the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

The carnal mind of man is enmity toward God and can be nothing else until The Father intervenes in that man or woman's life. Man has no say in changing this condition - no choices.

John 6:44 (KJV) No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

This Holy Scripture is one of THE most important Holy Scriptures there is and yet it is ignored by most of mainstream Christianity. Man has no freewill until he is Born Again.

Hi there

I had a question on my Hub concerning a baptized person who continued in serial murder even after he was baptized.

This brought me to comment on Saul to Paul, and that as Saul he was a Serial Believer killer..... and here is my response...

God changed him, this is when he was Born again, and the Holy Spirit, caused him to repent.

Repent... is Metanoeo (Greek)....to change ones mind...which leads to Repentance....Metanoia (Greek)....having fruits of Repentance.

Unless a person has fruits of repentance he should not be considered born again...a man is judged by his fruits, and the fruits are the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Being baptised is only the first step to being born again, to be baptised with the Holy Spirit, causes the fruits of repentance, which effectively removes us from bondage, and sets free from bondage of sin.

So if he continued in his murders then he was not born again.

God still loves him though just like Saul before he was born again and became Paul.

Fruits of the Holy Spirit are the things we as believers must look at in discerning.God says we are to judge others using this.

God bless

Amen Sir Dent Praise the Lord God His Holy Name will be Magnified as much as we possibly can to show the truth of his Spirit for if we keep our eyes upon him and not upon men we will understand his truth! I want to thank all of you who know the Lord our God and we are his Children and we want the Peace that only comes from knowing him personally and we Keep his Law in our hearts and his Word because knowing him in the most personal way is how we understand him. Not knowing the Doctrine of a Man.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matt 5:17.18 Praise God Amen
