Front Sight and Finland

Front Sight
Front Sight Firearms Training Institute is America's largest gun training institute. Front Sight trains more students every year than all other major shooting schools combined. The founder and director of Front Sight is former California chiropractor Dr. Ignatius Piazza. When Front Sight and Ignatius Piazza heard the news of the atrocious crime against humanity last week in Finland, all were stunned.
Front Sight and Ignatius Piazza are certainly not strangers to the atrocity which is school shooting, or even gun violence in general. Ignatius Piazza was himself a victim of a random act of gun violence. Several years ago, Ignatius Piazza was a California chiropractor who enjoyed merely going to the shooting range occasionally. One night, he and the rest of his neighborhood were made the target of a random drive-by shooting; a group of vagrants drove through the neighborhood, shooting everything which represented a product of an honest life's work. As he took cover on the floor of his living room, Ignatius Piazza had a scary thought: what if it became a home invasion? Not only would he not know how to handle the attack, but also he did not have his firearm ready or at hand.
That experience changed his life, and the lives of thousands of Americans, forever. He started on a training regimen which made him a bona fide master of firearms, and he eventually founded Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, with the intention of training every single person he could lay hands upon on how to effectively, safely and responsibly protect themselves and their loved ones so that an evil like the one he nearly experienced need never happen to any American.
Shortly after its inception, Front Sight started to become the powerhouse it is today, outstripping all its competition, often in exponential comparison. Being in a position of such obvious influence, Ignatius Piazza looked for ways to handle one of the largest gun-related problems which faced America: school shootings. The answer came fairly quickly, and was quite obvious when it did: arm the teachers.
Like most serious issues that can be labeled that beloved "C" word in the press (controversial), hard-core conservatives and hard-core liberals agree on the matter of arming the teachers: "NO!" But those are the fringe crazies, the ones that no one listens to anyway. The more central thinkers, the moderate-minded, more commonsense, logical thinkers realize that arming the teachers is, in fact, a great idea.
The news articles returning from Finland, for example, all but point out that if some or all of the teachers who had been present at the school had been trained and armed, the shooter need never have gotten away with his massacre of eight classmates. In fact, the first thing the shooter did was walk into one class, shoot out the windows and TV - he didn't even shoot the pupils or teacher! That teacher could have stopped the impending murders right there: if he or she had been armed and trained, he could have prevented, at gun point, the shooter from doing anything more, and the incident would have ended.
Front Sight Firearms Training Institute points to such examples, and the success of Israel's policy of arming its teachers since the 1970's, as obvious reasons for arming America's teachers and rather than putting restrictions on the prevalence of firearms, increasing their prevalence and keeping our children safe. Ignatius Piazza and all of Front Sight encourage America to figure out the simple solution, we should be so lucky!
