Hey cats! On piano, guitar, flute, harmonica, accordian or air guitar, put your own bluesy notes to this down home bit of soul...

“Front Steps”

Sittin’ on the Front Steps

just too hot to move.

Sippin’ on a cold one,

I got nothin’ to prove.

This is the life man, the way it is.

What I got is mine, what he got is his.

Announcer: Talk about how our beer was one with our life style

here on the Shores Of The Chesapeake Bay.

Wow. Is there any music for those great lyrics? You should include an MP3 here!

The year was l985 and the singers were a white group in London who sounded blacker than Harlem Black. I saw them later in Las Vegas and when they recognized me in the audience, sang the commercial for me. A blast.

Thanks Mike for your kind words David Russell

Ringo Starr & Eric Clapton in the band? Fantastic!

Do you have the recording? You should post it here or somewhere for us to listen to.

I'm not tecnologically adept with stuff like posting audio. But, I will ask around and see what comes up. A fellow in England asked for the chords to From Here thru Eternity. That was from 1972 so, like with FRONT STEPS, the sheets are long gone. But I promise I'll ask my younger hip friends if we can be helpful.

You words are always welcome. Next week is a song called, Slice Of Life, which came from a revue in the '80's called Slice Of Life; a typical East Side of New York lyric on which Skitch Henderson did the score. I think you'll like the story line. David
