Front load washing machines I DON'T LIKE THEM
57Front load washing machines:why i hate most of them Front load washing machines seem to be the smart thing to do recently if you want to save water and the earth and everything, that is if you follow the commercials or talk to the pretty sales person at your friendly appliance store. I do neither of the above but i come across front load washing machines all the time, some in customers homes and others i see on the side walk, some as young as three years old. In their short life span they did save a little water, but the end up in the trash far too soon, these washing machines come under different names, for example,sears--general electric--or--frigidaire,but when you open the machine for servicing you realise these machines are all the same, only difference is the name and model and serial number. These machines sometimes leak from the seal in the middle of the outer tub,the outer tub is devided into front and rear, the front and rear is connected together with bolts,i see many machines leaking from this seal in the middle, Another common problem is the bearings in the rear half of the tub sometimes goes bad,it is very easy to know if your bearings are going bad----if your machine sounds like a plane is taking off whenever it is in the final fast spin--your bearings are going bad. Also make sure you check and double check pockets for coins and other small objects as this machine has an electric drain pump that is very delicate,a pin--a penny--or a tooth pick can stop the impeller from turning, and this will eventually cause the drain pump to burn out.
