HOW TO MAKE PREMIUM SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM WITH SIMPLE KITCHEN TOOLS , NO NEED FOR AN ICE CREAM MACHINE !

This recipie is a simple, easy, and cost efficient way to make a premium ice cream, in any desired flavor, in your kitchen using basic kitchen tools and simple ingredients.

It is perfect for the single man or woman to follow, people who want to make a good treat with their children, and those who are just tired of paying high costs for ice cream at the store and at parlors.

The directions are easy to follow to make the perfecr PREMIUM SOFT SERVE TREAT !!!!

First, you will need to gather a few basic kitchen implements most people already have, and if yu do not have them, you can easily get them at any "Dollar" Store, Walmart type store, just about ANYWHERE!

You need a Metal Mixing Bowl ( a set of 4 at any "DOLLAR " type store can be bought for under 5 dollars!, a hand mixer, a spoon, and a 1 cup "measuring cup"...SIMPLE!

Ingredients you will need:

1/2 pint of HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM ( found in any dairy section of your local grocery )

1 Cup of WHOLE or RED CAP milk

1 box of dry ice cream mix ( made for ice cream machines ) in the flavor of your choice _ again, found at any grocery store

and, if you choose, another dry flavor, such as any pudding, candy, cookie, ANYTHING - as long as it is a dry ingredient!

Take your metal bowl and simply put your dry ingredients inside of it. Then add 1/2 pint of HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM and 1 CUP of WHOLE MILK to the dry ingredients.Take your spoon and mix untill the dry ingredients are moist, then using a hand held mixer, beat the mix on low for approximatly 2 minutes.

Place your mixture in your metal bowl and place it in your kitchen freezer. wait about 2 hours, then remove the bowl and beat the mix on low speed with your hand held mixture, you will notice it freezing up and starting to form.

At this point add more candy or cookies or whatever you desire, and simply place it back in the freezer. I generally check on it in about an hour and give it a slight 2 minute mixing on low speed with my hand held mixer.

Let it sit for approximatly 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours longer, untill it is at a consistency you like, remove the bowl from the freezer, beat it on low  ( you might have to break up a few chunks with your spoon first ) untill it is smooth and creamy, grab a bowl and scoop it out..serve it and enjoy!

See how easy it is..the key to making the soft serve ice cream is the 1/2 pint, wich equals 1 cup , of heavy whipping cream and the 1 cup of whole milk. If you use 2 percent , 1 percent , or skim, you will not get the desired result. You will simply have a runny mess. If yu were to only use Heavy Cream, you beat it and get whipped topping..the milk and cream work together to make the ice cream ( this is even true with ice cream makers)...

the 2 boxes you see are simply flavors, I chose pudding to add to my "Vanilla Ice Cream Machine Mix"..all the ice cream machine mix is simply dry flavorings, nothing important to making the ice cream set or making the texture.

It takes about 4 hours but there really is only about 5 minutes "prep" time and is just basic waiting, and sometimes the best things in life are things we have to wait for.

( this is not a low calorie treat, WHIPPING CREAM is 100 percent milkfat and 50 calories a tablespoon, and whole milk is 3,25 percent fat content or higher. Your dry flavorings contain sugars, cornstarches, and simple flavors , some will ahve colorings, it all depends on what flavor you want )

Enjoy your easy made treat..it is a very ecomonical way to have soft serve, I will break the cost down for you in the next text box..

I wish I could write this longer for you, but it is so simple and easy to follow, not much more needs to be said!

Frugal Desserts, break down of costs:

the first few items are basic kitchen implements or tools, they are a one time purchase to be used many times over:

Set of Heavy Aluminum Bowls =around $5.00 for a set of 4 at any discount or "Dollar" store

1 Hand Mixer = around $8 to $12 dollars, I have had mine since 1996, you do not need an expensive one to get your cooking done, a mixer is a mixer, and they have many, many uses!

1 measuring cup = most "dollar" stores have these for $1.00 , yu do not need to buy a name brand cup for more money, they all do the same thing ( I just happen to prefer the pyrex glass ones to cook with , but plastic will do absolutly fine )

1 Spoon + a cheap kitchen set of silverwear can be picked up , almost anywhere for a dollar or two, if you have a nice set, use them, I am just keeping this as low cost as possible for my readers.

1/2 pint HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM = around $1,35

1/2 Gallon of WHOLE MILK ( RED CAP ) = Around $1.50 ( and you only need a cup, so if you can find a smaller amount, by all means buy it if you do not use whole milk on a regular basis )

1 box of "MACHINE ICE CREAM MIX" = approximatly .99 cents

1 box "STORE BRAND PUDDING FOR MY FLAVOR CHOICE" = .59 cents

Making your own treat for yourself, your friends, your family, or simply to try something new = FREE

So you have your kitchen tools, the cost to just get the ingredients for making a PREMIUM SOFT SERVE ICE CREAM = approximatly $3.00 if you leave out the pudding and simply go for chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry, the milk was estimated down, it is actully cheaper if you take the time to figure out the math of a cup of milk..

Now the extra ingtredients, cost wise are not that much, a few cookies, a generic box of pudding, a part of a candy bar..it is all simple ingredients that do not cost much.

IT IS FRUGAL, FUN, AND BETTER THAN MOST ICE CREAMS YOU CAN BUY ON SALE AT THE GROCERY. YOU ARE GETTING SOFT SERVE, and TO BUY IT AT HE DAIRY ISLE OR ICE CREAM SHOP IS MORE EXPENSIVE AND YOU CAN NOT MAKE IT ANY PERSONAL FLAVOR YOU CHOOSE!

Please, have fun and simply just enjoy my hub and my tried and true recipie!!!

IS IT WORTH THE WAIT??? REALLY???

Is making your own soft serve really worth the wait to save a few bucks and have fun for yourself, with family, or for friends?

I have to try this for the grands! Does this have a similar consistency as DQ's soft serve?

ues , dear..it has a very close, if not exact consistency of DQ..just make sure you use the whole milk and heavy crean...

using pudding mix for flavor tends to give it a close consisteny , but using any other dry, ilke cookie or candies and it will be perfect :)

I have encyclopedias of my own recipies...I will consider posting hubs about easy, fun traets to make for yourself or with your children, as soon as I am physically myself again and can do 3 or more projects at once again..lol..

right now I am worried about getting my perfume bottled for hristmas and selling and marketing it to the public, not just selling the entire batch to one store to sell ..I am sure they are making around 50 times what I asked for payment ( for those who do not know, perfume is a 50 to 500 percent mark-up at the store..it is very inexpensive to produce ( if you know what your doing ) and can be sold for the price of gold, figularly speaking
