So now can you imagine an Indian recipe which is good for you if you are health conscious and/or trying to shed couple of extra pounds? Yes, there is such a dish that exists, and it’s called Fruit Chaat, it’s basically a mixture of different fruits with Indian spices. Let me tell you that it’s gooood, I went to a friend of mines, and she made me try it, I loved it. I got the recipe from her and I wanted to share it with you all. I am pretty sure you will like it as well. Below is the recipe for it, I hope you will try and enjoy it.

Fruit Chaat

Ingredients & Recipe

Ingredients:

Oranges: Two

Apple: One (You can peel it if you like)

Honey Dew Melon: 6 oz.

Peer: One

Bananas: Three

Guava: Two fresh ones or 6 oz. canned, If you can find fresh ones, get about two of them. Otherwise, just get 6 oz canned ones.

Raisins: 15 Raisins

Lemon: Half

Pineapples: If you like them you can add them, but I personally don’t

Grapes: small bunch

Kiwis: about 6 or 7

Pomegranate: Half (It’s time consuming, but it’s worthwhile)

Chaat Masala: Half packet (You can find this from an Indian grocery store, otherwise just use these spices: Salt to taste, 1 tsp cumin seed, 1 tsp paprika or chili powder, pinch of black pepper) You can also include little bit of sugar to sweeten a little bit, or you can use Splenda, I tried it without it and it was pretty good. You can also adjust spices according to your taste.

Peel and segment one of the oranges, juice the other one with an fruit juicer along with the lemon (If you are looking to buy a fruit juicer, you can read fruit juicer reviews here. Cut up the apple and peer in small cube like shapes. Peel the bananas and cut them up in small pieces as well. If you found fresh guava then just cut them in small cubes as well, otherwise just make small pieces of the canned ones. Peel and cut kiwis and spoon out the red fruits into a bowl. Cut up honey dew melon in small pieces and put all the cut up fruit in big bowel. Pour the orange juice and lemon juicer on top, mix the spices, grapes and raisins into it. There you have your fruit chaat. I hope you enjoy it.

Chaat in hindi means ‘to lick’ and Masala means spices. You can imagine from the name, this snack is very loved in India. This basically is a street food, a lot of people eat it as a snack during their shopping trips. Recently, people have started eating chaats as a full meal, because of the quantity provided at some of the places.
