What are these gift baskets ?

Gift baskets never cease to amaze me with their wonderful designs and stylish packaging and on top of that those umpteen varieties of ingredients that you can have in a gift basket. I was searching for some special gift from my friend who is a cheese lover and I dabbled with the idea of giving him one of those gourmet cheese varieties available at high end specialty stores. However the mere thought of giving a gift which was just a simple pack of cheese wrapped in a gift paper was not endearing enough. The gift should be such that it should enthuse before even it can get that message across to the recipient.

That left me with no option but to search at all the local stores but was not able to find a decent cheese gift. Then I chanced upon a wine gift basket and it left me wondering about what if my friend can have a wide variety of cheese. That will mean a little more pricey gift from my side but what the heck that will be worth a thousand times for it will mean a world for him. That set me thinking of my options between purchasing one and getting a custom made one.

Of course looking at the price it would be less expensive making it all by yourself. However if you think time is money and you are running short of time then make sure that you get it custom made or search online. While searching online be careful as to what varieties of cheese are you getting. I was fortunate to find something even better and that was the ideal combination of health and gourmet which as the fruit and cheese basket.

how to select a fruit and cheese gift basket

Cheese varieties that you can choose from will depend on the price but here are the most common ones and these are cheddar, garden medley, Muenster cheese, Smokey blue, fire jack cheese, Gouda cheese. The fruits category you can have the pears, oranges and apples. Grapes with cheese and banana can do well. As add-ons you can have crackers or crisps and sometimes even chocolate can do well.

Within cheese there are a large number of varieties and these varieties need to be carefully selected if you are going in for gifts of fruit and cheese gift basket to someone who is a cheese aficionado. There are cow cheese varieties like ricotta or robiola. Other varieties include the goat, sheep or mixed cheese.

In the cheese basket you can have variety of add-ons like the sausages, mustard sauce, toasted crackers and breadsticks. Add some crisps to make it a wholesome healthy basket. As far as the occasion is concerned my friend is recovering a from a knee fracture and I thought this will work well. You can give it for get well wishes or birthday wishes, thank you or even Christmas gifts. The cost of this gift can vary between $60- $110. It all depends on the selection of fruits as well as selection of cheese that you have. Online availability of these things from reputed companies is a big boon but again make sure that you have the correct company which allows you to customize the gift order. Also check for the same day or the next day delivery.

Always add a nice note for the occasion on which you are giving a gift basket. The gift baskets with such specialized themes have the added advantage that they are way different than the rest of the normal usual gifts and a healthy at that
