Fruit Dip, Flavored whipped cream
60So, You need a dip for your fruit platter. Something light, that will bring its own flavor to the party with out being to overbearing, heavy or destroying the life and natural sweetness of your fruit. Well, I think we can whip up something for you to enjoy with your fruit. In fact, I think we can whip up two choices for munching delight.
What you will need for Option 1 1 Pint of Heavy Cream ½ Teaspoon of mint extract (Almond is another good choice) What you will need for Option 2 1 Pint of Heavy Cream 1 Table Spoon of your favorite liquid chocolate (Think chocolate milk mix – sugar free if you happen to be a diabetic) What to do: The Night Before:This operation does require a little bit of advance planning in order to be a success. This means that you must shop at least 12 hours in advance, because your cream will need ample time to get nice and chilly in your friendly refridgerator. This is a very important part of the process, and while you may be tempted to skip this, I will urge you not to skip it under any circumstances. I don’t care if your grocery store could rival Nome, Alaska. Proper overnight chilling is a non-negotiable. The Day of: Get out your mixer. If your mixer supports attachments this is the time to go for it, I am actually a fan of the paddle attachment, but if you use standard beaters, no one will fault you for that. Put in the cream, and your flavor enhancer of choice (of course if you are a purist, you don’t have to add anything you don’t want to) and beat on low. The goal here is to get air into the cream. When it starts to look a little more solid, you can move the beaters up to medium without fear of two much splashing. Continue agitating the cream (with either your beaters or paddle, until it is light, fluffy, and you can run a spoon through the cream without it filling back in.PrintShare it! — Rate it: up down flag this hub
