Fuel Doctor

With fuel prices continuing to climb, nearly everyone wants to get good gas mileage for the sake of saving money.  There are many new hybrid and electric cars that get excellent gas mileage, but not everyone wants to drive one, nor can everyone afford to just buy a new car on a whim.  So for those of you who aren't planning on getting a new car anytime soon, there are still some things you can do to help improve the gas mileage of your current car.

The first thing you can do is make sure that your tires have the proper amount of air in them.  Over time, tires tend to slowly lose air, and over a period of months your tires can have a bit less air in them than they're supposed to.  When tires are under-inflated, they tend to lower gas mileage.  Making sure that your tires have the proper amount of air is a good way to help ensure you get the best fuel efficiency possible.

The next thing you should do is make sure that your air filter is replaced (or cleaned, depending on the type of filter you have) regularly.  Over time, as the air filter gets covered with dust and debris, it becomes less efficient at its job of bringing air into the engine and your gas mileage may suffer.

You may also want to look into products that are designed to electronically improve your gas mileage, such as Fuel Doctor.  And another thing that will increase your gas mileage is to remove any unused cargo from your trunk.  Many people leave hundreds of pounds of cargo in their trunk even when they're not planning on using it, and all that extra weight results in more work for the car's engine to do, thus lowering gas mileage.

By implementing these tips, you should be able to noticeably increase the gas mileage in whatever type of car you currently drive.
