DVDs make the perfect gift.

Have you ever struggled to find a gift for someone that has everything? I know every year I try to figure out what to buy my parents. They can't fit another photo on the wall. All their shelves are full of nicnaks already. You could go with a giftcard but they just seem like you didn't even try to find someone a gift. So why not a DVD. Everyone watches movies or has a favorite TV show.

You can buy DVD's in single movies or in a full box set of your favorite TV series or Movie. Some examples of TV series would be The Simpsons, Monk, the complete Sopranos dvd set, Scubs, CSI, Designing Women and so many more.. Some examples of movie full DVD box sets would be, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Trek, Grease, and many others. You can even find full DVD box sets of UFC fighting seasons.

So as you see if you are struggling to find a gift for someone head to your nearest DVD area and find them a movie or even a full box set. If you plan it right and start shopping early you can even find some great bargins on a full box set. The average price normally will run $75 and up for a DVD box set. But I have found if you love a hunt you can go right online and do some searching for the DVD box set you are wanting. There are many stores on line that offer wholesale pricing. You can even shop eBay as many sellers on there sell new and used DVDs. If by chance you decide to buy from eBay or anywhere else that you find a nice lightly used version I have included a guide to help teach you how to remove scratches. Here are a few steps to fixing a scratched DVD:

1. The most popular home remedy for DVD scratch repair is by cleaning the DVD scratch with toothpaste. Take a bit of fluoride toothpaste and spread the paste all around the surface of the DVD. Than take a piece of lint-free(the ones used for cleaning the eyeglass) cloth and clean it. Wipe from the center to the edge in a straight line. Insert the DVD and you should be able to play it without any problems.

2. Like toothpaste, glass cleaners, some polishes and alcohol can all be effective as DVD scratch removers to some extent. Only use solutions that you use on glass, for instance Windex glass cleaner. Do not use the rough gritty cleaners that are used to clean the floors or bathroom flooring. These can in fact harm the DVDs.

3. There are some solutions that are specially made for DVD scratch removal or DVD scratch repair and they are quite effective. This usually comes in a kit that consist of DVD cleaning solution and a cloth. You apply it on the DVD with the cloth and start cleaning from the center of the disk to the edge in a straight line one smooth stroke. Do not clean your DVD in a circular motion. Make sure you rub the DVD gently.
