Throwing a Bridal Shower? Need some game ideas? You've come to the right place! I've been to my own showers, other peoples showers, and hosted many showers. I've seen good games and bad games. Below are a few of my favorite games.

Toilet Paper Bride

I know its cliche to suggest that you play the toilet paper bride game, but everyone always has a lot of fun! At one of my showers my aunt go so into matching my strapless wedding gown that she actually took off her shirt to make it look authentic! Talk about getting into the game!

This one is easy too...all you need is a few rolls of toilet paper. Just divide people into groups of 3 or 4 and tell them they have 5 minutes to make the best dress out of toilet paper. The bride gets to sit this one out and watch the mayhem. Once everyone is done, the bride picks her favorite. Make sure to take a lot of pictures during this game!

Purse Bingo

This game I have only ever seen played once so I like to think it is unusual! This will only work at a women only shower (seeing as how men don't carry purses!). You have all the women pull out their purses and you read off a list of things for the women to find in their purses. First woman to have 5 of the items (BINGO) wins. Some examples of items are lipstick, compact, nail clippers, visa card, band-aid, brush, sewing kit, etc.

Interviewing the Bride and Groom

This game always ends up embarassing the Bride at least a little bit. Before the shower ask the Groom a bunch of questions about himself and their relationship. Then at the shower ask the bride how the groom answered. Before she starts answering have everyone write down their guess for how many correct answers she gets. The closest wins.

Some examples of question for the groom are:

1. Where was your first job?

2. What was your first pets name?
3. What is your favorite thing your brides makes to eat?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. When did you fall in love with your bride?
6. What was your first car?
7. What is your favorite song?

I would suggest asking about 20 questions.

Observing the Bride

This one tests the guests powers of observation. Hand everyone a piece of paper and a pen and then ask the bride to leave the room. Once she is gone have everyone write down everything that they remember about what the bride was wearing. Make sure no one knows what the game is before the bride leaves the room. The person who remembered the most, wins!

Make sure you have some nice prizes for the winners of the games you decide to play. Always have an extra one or two gifts for ties (extra's can be given to the bride at the end of the shower). Some nice ideas are cheap cookbooks, candles, and lotions. They prizes don't need to be extravegant, just nice.

Beyond the games remember some other must do's for the bridal shower. Make sure you collect the ribbons from the gifts for the ribbon bouquet. Just stick the ribbons (and other gift decorations) through a paper plate and give it to the bride to use at her rehersal. Also remember to count the number of ribbons the bride breaks. The "superstition" is that the number she breaks is the number of kids she'll have.
