Fun Puzzle Game "Bloxorz" Reviewed
78An Overview of the Game
With Bloxorz, you have to move a 3-D rectangle by rolling and tipping it in various directions to get around a board made up small squares. When the rectangluar block is on it's end it takes up one square, when it's laying down, it covers two of the squares. All of these little squares are put together to create an odd and abstract shaped board. It looks like of like a crossword puzzle.
The overall goal of the game is to move this block to the small opening in the board and tilt it upright so it falls into the hole.
Some of the squares on the board may have an X or an O on them. When you land on these squares, the game board changes. If you land or fall on an O, it will typically take away a square you need. If you land on X, it will bring more squares to help you get to the empty square. You almost always need these extra squares to make to your goal.

What the Game Teaches You
Even though this is one of many free fun kids games, it will actually teach you some geometry and math principles. It will exercise your brain as you try to figure out the best moves to reach your goal. You may need to move just one space to reach something, but in order to do that, you have to go backwards and adjust your blocks position by moving sideways, up and down. Until you play the game, this is difficult to understand.
Most people don't really think about what the game is teaching them, but believe me, it gets you to think. If you have a child who strungles with math concepts, let them loose on this game for a few rounds and they'll suddenly see shapes in a whole new light.
Mastering Bloxorz
Once you've completed a level or stage by getting your block into the whole, you move on to more complex maps or game boards. Each level will add a new twist to the puzzle. Some will add in levers (with X's and O's) that you need to activate or deactivate in order to get to another side of the board. The first few stages, it's pretty easy but it's meant to teach you the concepts slowly. There are a total of 33 levels.
Because the levels get more difficult as you move through them, most kids don't like playing a game and starting all over again the next time they start up. If you're one of those kids, you can write down the pass-code found in the upper right hand corner. Write this down and you can start where you left off the next time you play. You don't have to go back to level one and start over completely. Keep this passcode safe, if you lose it, you'll be starting all over at level 1 again. I like to email them to myself, so I have them the next time I play.
Replaying some of the lower levels will allow you to think through them a little more and decrease the number of moves and/or time it takes to complete the level. That's a whole different challange kids can engage with each other.

** WARNING ** Game Spoiler PASSCODES
I highly recommend you work your way through each level and writing down your passcodes. But, I realize some people will want to skip the lower levels. For that reason, I'm including the passcodes I know here.
