Fun Volleyball Spandex
70Which ones are your favorite
Volleyball spandex have come a long way in recent years. Here's a look at some of the most fun styles available right now.
Funky Prints:
There are quite a few different prints available, like zebra, giraffe, tie-dye and even peace signs. These are a lot different than the basic black or dark blues from only 5 years ago. These typically run at around $25. Most are made of a rather flimsy material, and have quite a short inseam, but the patterns are pretty cool. Beware: Most zebra prints are see through. Test them first if possible. (1-2 at side)
Bright Neons:
Asics has come out with some bright colored spandex recently, ranging from orange to purple, while keeping the basics available with dark green and black. These look a little more "solid" as far as material goes, but they still have the short hemline. Good for older girls, but younger girls may feel uncomfortable in them. Some Asics shorts have a white "wave" down the side that adds a little more pop to the basic colors. These typically cost between $25-$30. (3-4 at side)
Best Basics:
Adidas makes my personal favorite brand of spandex. The fit is very nice, with a tight fit that returns after washing and stays. The only colors I have seen in stores from them are black and dark blue, but after purchasing one I bought the other color soon after because their fit is just awesome. More colors are available online. You'll still need to roll down the waistband, but it's worth it! Con to these is that they are hard to find, and they typically run at around $30-$35. (5 at side)
Mizuno has fairly decent spandex for the price of about $25. They are made with a flimsy material with a lot of stretch, and will tend to stretch out after repeated use. Their proportions are a little off for how most players like their spandex to fit. The inseam tends to be short, while the top goes on for quite a while. Be prepared to roll them down if high-waisted spandex is not your style. The pro about these is that they are widely available and come in red, blue, green, and black. (6 at side)
