Seeking a destination that won't break the family budget?

In Idaho there are many affordable family recreational opportunities.

Located in Northern Idaho, Sandpoint has become a thriving resort community with lively visual and performing arts, shopping, and family fun.
Attractions range from the Route of the Hiawatha Trail (ranked as one of the most scenic trails in America by Great Bicycle Trails) with trestle bridges, tunnels, and 15 miles of scenic high mountain trail, to Silverwood Theme Park, the Northwest's largest theme park, where kids and adults alike can enjoy the more than 60 rides, shows, and attractions - just north of Coeur d'Alene. Outdoor recreation activities can be found at Cocolalla Lake, known for prime fishing spots as a spawning habitat for brown, rainbow, cutthroat and brook trout. Schweitzer Mountain is a great place to mountain bike, shop, or relax at the local café- it even has a day care! Lake Pend Oreille is the heart of Sandpoint and the largest lake in Idaho.

McCall is just a two-hour drive north of Idaho’s capital city Boise. McCall began as a timber town and is now known as one of Idaho's most popular winter-summer resort areas. Attractions range from mountain biking on the Brundage Mountain trails, whitewater rafting along the Salmon River -also known as the “River of No Return”, to soaking in the Burgdorf Hot Springs. The Annual Brundage Mountain Festival in August features two days of live music, food, mountain biking, scenic chairlift rides, and a super long slip n slide.

The Sawtooth National Recreational Area of Central Idaho has over 754,000 acres of lush green meadows and high, jagged mountain peaks that are scattered with a large variety of wildflowers and wildlife. Pristine clear flowing streams with spectacular waterfalls supply more than 300 high mountain lakes. An outfitter or professional guide is suggested while exploring the rugged Sawtooth terrain.
