Fun date idea
53Cold weather date
Summer is not the only time for taking a walk or having a picnic.
Fall and winter can be just as romantic if you plan well.
A cold-weather picnic is easily assembled.
First, make some homemade hot cocoa. If you don't know how, whip up 3 or 4 packets of instant hot chocolate. Pour the hot beverage in a Thermos and don't forget a bag of mini marshmallows.
Second, pick out some cold weather foods that are easy to carry and prepare. For a short outing, some biscotti or even graham crackers will go great with the cocoa. For a longer outing, make some croissant or panini sandwiches.
For the best results, warm the sandwiches and wrap them in aluminum foil. A small cooler will keep the sandwiches warm for an hour or so. Obviously, don't add an ice pack to the cooler.
Now, find a local park, trail or nature center that is open when you want to go there.
On the date, walk around and talk for 1/2 hour or more. Then find a bench or picnic table and break out the drinks and eats.
This date will warm your stomach and heart.
