Adrenaline is a hormone secreted by the adrenal gland, it is also called Epinephrine. Adrenal Gland is either of the two small dissimilarly shaped endocrine glands, one located above each kidney. Adrenaline helps the body to adjust to sudden stress.
When a person becomes angry or frightened, the adrenal gland release adrenaline into the blood. The hormone causes changes in the body to make it more efficient for "fight or flight".
Adrenaline increases the strength and rate of the heartbeat and raises the blood pressure. It also speeds up the conversion of glycogen into glucose, which provide energy to the muscles.
One of a good example is ; When there is fire, a person can suddenly carry a heavy stuff that he/she cannot usually carry in normal condition. It is the adrenalin hormone that is responsible in that sudden strength.
Adrenaline can be extracted from the adrenal glands of animals or can be chemically synthesized and can be used to treat some sickness.
Commercial Prepared Adrenalin is Being Used in the Treatment of the Following Disorders :
- Severe allergic reactions
- To restore the heartbeat of patients suffering cardiac arrest
- To treat severe asthma, adrenaline relaxes the muscles in the bronchi (the large air passages into the lungs).

Adrenaline cycle in my body is always turned on and so i am having many physical and psycological problem.I have tested my adrenaline level two times ang found 89pg/mol,96pg/mol.my cortisol was low before but after taking hydrocortisone 20mg/day(morning) it increased.but I am not okay for adrenaline switched on.if anyone know what medicine will help please tell.

Hi I have the same problem i always feel hyper and full of adrenline not a good thing it scares ya. My dr put me on a Beta Blocker i guess it should help the fight or flight .... However xanax has helped but low dose and can be addicting...

Nice post. It is naturally released by the adrenal glands to cope with certain situations. Unfortunately caffeine, which a very lot of people ingest everyday, fools our body into thinking that we are in a situation where adrenaline is needed.
