Funnel Cakes Recipe
As a child growing up I used to look forward to the fair coming every year so I could have a funnel cake. Back then they only came one way and that was a deep fried funnel cake sprinkled with powdered sugar. As well as I remember the first ones I remember buying were only 50 cents and they were so delicious.
It was only many years later that I got to have fudge funnel cakes , carmel funnel cakes , and banana split funnel cakes. And now you can get all different flavors of funnel cakes made many different ways.
And now you can make your own delicious funnel cakes by following the below recipe.
1. 2 & 2/3 Cups All Purpose Plain Flour.
2. 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar.
3. 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder.
4. 1 Teaspoon Salt.
5. 2 Eggs.
6. 2 Cups Milk.
7. 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract.
Vegetable Oil For Frying.
Confectioners Powdered Sugar For Sprinkling.
In a large bowl combine the flour , sugar , baking powder , and salt. In another bowl mix the eggs , milk , and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and mix very well with a electric hand mixer.
Heat 1 inch of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Hold your finger over the bottom of a funnel and pour in 1/2 cup of your batter. Holding the funnel over the hot oil drizzle the batter into the hot oil. Cook until golden brown. Turn over and cook the other side. Drain on paper towels and then sprinkle with powdered sugar.

I'm old, I'm gray and I still love funnel cakes. Never tried to make them at home but this looks too good to pass up, I'll have to give it a whirl.
Yes I still love funnel cakes and a while back I started making them at home. They are easy and delicious.
