Funny Pictures: Absurd Signs
65Signs of the times
Signs are meant to be straightforward announcements. With a little cleverness - or sometimes a little lack of cleverness - they can become comedic works of art. Enjoy the first in a series of Hubs on absurd signs. I hope it makes your day a little brighter.
I'm currently continuing a series of these societal absurdities. If you have a picture of a funny sign, that:
- isn't offensive
- you think people will enjoy, and
- isn't owned by someone else (check for a website logo)
feel free to share a link to it in the Comments area and I'll consider adding it to the series. I hope you've enjoyed these; there are links to other Hubs in this series right here. Enjoy. =)

Thanks, Susan! Yeah, I got the idea last night and as far as I know it's original on the Hubs. I thought a lot of people would enjoy it. Looks like I was right. =)
I always wanted to make a coffee table book of funny but real signs. One of my favorites was a local window store that for a time had all their shop windows closed up with concrete blocks and the slogan on the sign said "The Window People!"
Bwah-ha-ha! Love it, Pam. I'm a big fan of glitched-up ads, labels and signs, myself.
This will never make it into a new Hub because I don't have a one-image thing for it... you know those food donations we ship to Africa? To overcome the language barrier, they usually have a picture on the label of the jar of what's inside. You know, if it's strained carrots, there's a picture of a carrot... if it's peas there'll be pictures of peas... well, evidently this was all working out just fine, but the natives were having a real tough time figuring out the Gerber baby food.
Some of my latest work:
- Ten addictive little flash games
Ten great little games you can play for free in your browser, regardless of what kind of computer you have. Nothing to download, nothing to pay... just click, and play! I hope you'll love these as much as I do. - 8 months ago
- FactWatch: Is America moving towards martial law?
This isn't an ordinary Hub, it's a FactWatch Hub - designed to share and evaluate evidence for or against an idea. I've compiled evidence, and you can add evidence for or against the idea to the Hub as well. By sharing facts about an issue, we can get to the bottom of it. - 10 months ago
- FactWatches: A new kind of HubPage
With the world doing all kinds of strange loop-de-loops, and issues being addressed in terms of opinions both in the news and online by the public, HubPages allows us to do things differently. Learn how to create FactWatch Hubs for any topic - and create a source of facts about it that other readers can build on. - 10 months ago

Ooh, I had a few pictures of funny signs in the Philippines. I'll try to find them and see if they don't have copyright.
I like this idea of yours, Satori. Everybody needs a laugh. :D
