Funny Things Kids Say
70Last night my granddaughter was playing with a paper fan and asked me, "Are you too hot Ma'am?" I said yes and she fanned me. She then turned to her dad and asked, "And are you too hot, Ma'am?" In mock anger, he said, "Ma'am?! Ma'am?! Did you call me ma'am?!" Little A was surprised for a moment, then with her hand to her mouth, started giggling. Once she got hold of herself again, she very sweetly said, "Sorry. I meant - Are you too hot, DUDE?"
My friend's little girl (5 yrs old like my granddaughter) asked for a pony. My friend said no. Then little S said, how about if I clean up my room, then can I have a pony? My friend just laughed and said Sure, why not? Hearing this, her 7 yr old son chimed in, "Then can I have a cheetah if I clean my room?" Friend: Sure you can. Not to be left out when mom had apparently lost her mind, her 13 yr old son, Big C, asked, "So can I have a car?" Mom says, "Sure, of course you can." Big C just looked at her for a moment and responded, "You don't have much faith in our accomplishing this, do you Mom?"
Long ago when one of my sons was
potty-training, he had one of those little seats you affix to the
regular toilet seat. He was so proud that he knew what to do - he came
running out to the living room bare-bottomed, held his little seat in
front of him and peed through it all over the carpet! Beaming with
pride, he announced, "See! I go potty!"
He Always DID Want A Pet
We were out at a street fair when my youngest was four. He was smiling and having a good time - a woman standing near us commented, "You sure are a happy little boy!" He was apparently totally amazed and denied it entirely. Know why? "I'm not happy, I don't have a pet buffalo!"
The Fun Is The Important Part
My mother-in-law babysat one of my sons once and suggested they make Mickey Mouse pancakes together. My son, 2 yrs old at the time, happily agreed. They spent time measuring, stirring, laughing, having fun cooking together. When the pancakes were ready, MIL put them on a plate for my son who promptly said, "But Nana, I don't want to eat them. I don't like pancakes."
----------------------
I also have a 3 yr old grandson, baby D. I don't know what movie this baby watched, something with an annihilator or eliminator perhaps? Anyway, he came running into the living room one day, assumed a fighting stance and announced in a fierce voice, "You better watch out! You all better (w)un! Because I am ... The Nibble-Nator!"
My son told his littles once (5 yr old girl, 3 yr old boy), "Uh-oh, I see toys all over the living room." Baby D looked around, raised his fist and said, "Somebody's going to pay for this!"
Being able to look back years later at these memories is so much fun! Keeping a journal is one way to keep track of them but you'd have to go find it or get it from another room. With littles around, it's likely you'd be interrupted two or three times before you get a chance to write it down, if you ever did get the chance before you forget. A very easy and effective way to hold onto these memories is to hang a calendar in the kitchen (the most likely place to need it) and jot a note on the right date. This way, you have an automatic record of which baby said or did something memorable and how old they were at the time. It helps to keep track of where you lived and the circumstances too because all your regular calendar notes are there. Calendars are easy to store too. If you're really ambitious, you can have the calendar made of the family pictures which adds another element of enjoyment to the memories.

So true. Even while they're driving you crazy, you know you're going to end up laughing!
nice read. Thanks for sharing
cute, kids are so innocent. thanks for sharing.
What a good idea of writing precious amusing comments on your calender.I often have to remind myself of those funny sayings that are just so cute at the time, because they will grow out of them just too quickly. My eldest child use to ask for a "Mink"; makes sense if you think about it Milk and a drink!
Thanks for the humour.
The calendar idea has helped me immensely - it didn't take too many times of saying "which one said that?" or "what was it he said again? something about..." before I knew I needed a way to keep track.
