FuzziBunz: What Are They?

Cloth diapers have come a long way. FuzziBunz is a two-part pocket cloth diapering system. Boasting a soft fleece inner layer that touches the baby, a removable soaker pad (a.k.a. absorbent liner) and a breathable waterproof outer layer. The diaper fastens with snaps and many cloth diaper moms claim it's as easy to use as a disposable.

These are from my stash. How yummy are the colors?

Do FuzziBunz Cloth Diapers Work?

Yep. I've been using these diapers for three months on my now 10-month-old son. Here's what I found:

  • It isn't any harder to put on my son than a disposable. I bought these because my son wiggles and squirms like a fish out of water every time I change his diaper. I needed convenience.
  • They are economical compared to disposable. And they are better for the environment and your baby.
  • I chose the "perfect size" diapers over the "one size" version that has an adjustable rise because they are trimmer.
  • They are a breeze to launder.I
  •  love the colors! I bought apple green, red, blue, orange, yellow, teal, and other fun colors for my stash.
  • The company stands behind its product with limited warranties. (And their customer service is great.)
  • There are lots of really great places to buy them online.
  • Poop doesn't stick to the fleece inner layer. (Sweet!)

So, hype or hot? Hot, burning hot.

What's the dark side of FuzziBunz?

  • These would have leaked like crazy if I had used them when my son was on breast milk. Holy cow. Once a baby is on solid food and the "end results" are a bit more solid then FuzziBunz are cool. (I recommend a fitted cloth diaper with cover to for ultimate leak control with breast milk babies.)
  • They aren't  made of all-natural fibers. In fact they are made entirely out of synthetic fibers. This is only a real issue if your child is sensitive to anything but cotton or wool.
  • Sometimes the removable soaker pad takes a little longer to dry. My solution? Throw a dry towel in with the diapers in the dryer.
  • Price Tag. At $17.95-18.95 per diaper it can appear pricey. But you pay for convenience and cuteness.

Where Can I Buy FuzziBunz?

There are many online places to buy FuzziBunz. I would send you to Amazon.com, but it's rediculously difficult. Go with an online store. Here are a couple I like:

Comfybummy.com: This online store has really cool little videos you can watch so you can be more familiar with the product before you buy. And they are reliable and responsive.

Kellyscloset.com: This store is also reliable and they offer decent bulk pricing.
